Talking Show us your Medium Sized Tow Rig Setup

There is already a thread for "Show us your small Tow Vehicle set-up". But there isn't one for everyone with a medium sized tow rig. So I wanted to start one, to encourage others who aren't quite sure that an International Freightliner is for them just yet.

Towing with a Suburban? Post up a picture and your setup!

I know there are a lot of Tundra owners pulling out there, post your setup!

Towing with a F-150 Ecoboost? Show that thing off!

Just had your first towing experience with the new Ram Ecodiesel? Post up!

I'll start.

2010 Dodge Ram 1500 - 3.92 LSD, 5.7 Hemi - Crewcab, Rambox

Planned hitch setup, Pro Ride.

Pulling: 27ft FB Airstream International Signature

I hate to follow that wonderful photo that Arcticfox just posted but oh well.

Both of these photos are taken along the northern shore of Lake Michigan in the Upper Peninsula.

Good Looking rig there Ron - How do you like the Dodge Ram? Is that a 5' box? Does it pull the big trailer okay?
I see you have a 2015 on order. Are you dealing with the folks in Ontario? I hear good things about them!

I love my Ram, that EcoDiesel is a tempting upgrade. Think we'll ride it out a year to see if we want bigger or not. But so far, buying a Ram was the best decision I ever made.

Ok I lied, marrying my wife was the best decision I ever made. Switching to the Ram is high up on my list though.

LOL - glad you put the final note that actually your wife rates higher....

I'm never ran a Dodge product but I hear good things about them. I know a lot of the farmers in our country like them and they are normally very hard on iron.

My concern will be the low GVWR on these things (around 7,000) is that heavy enough for a longer trailer like the 27,28 or 30?

Thanks

Doug

I try to keep myself from boiling when I hear talk of GVWR, but I know these topics will never end on these RV forums. Set up your hitch properly and go have fun!

Ok, I digress... after attaching my AS to my tiny GVWR RAM EcoDiesel my insurance company used their psychic ability and cancelled my policy (or it could have been an anonymous tip from a disgruntled AirForums member) just about the same time my RAM exploded, raining down shrapnel on all those who claim I'm a menace to society

I feel so much better.

Still luv ya arcticfox

LOL - gee Ron get your blood pressure back down....lol
This isn't a discussion about hockey!....

I'm running a F150 pulling a 28' so I know what you mean about GVWR and setting up your hitch properly.

Cheers
Doug

I miss my GL 450, and I know the hitch could be modified, but don't feel comfortable about the GL's rear end and tranny.

Our 'Burb gets the job done quite nicely. ;-)
