I'm new to this group, but not new to towing. I will be picking up a 1973 Argosy 22 in a week. I've towed with many vehicles and this is my favorite by far. 1999 GMC Suburban 1500 with a 6.5 Turbo diesel. It says 1500 on the doors, but it has the 2500 wheels and axles. It tows my 24' Terry effortlessly, can't wait to see how the Argosy tows.

Here is a shot on the way home from our latest trip, 9-14-14 to Spicer Reservoir, CA.
The GMC Yukon 1500 is a trooper in the mountains.

Others might disagree, but I consider this Ram 2500 medium sized for the 10,000+ lb. load. On top of Spring Creek Pass at 10,900 ft. AMSL in Colorado on the Continental Divide.

@SteveH..... Sweet rig. This is the diesel's playground at 11,000 feet. The gasoline engines, unless turbo charged will suffer.

Nice looking setup. I see SSR's about as often as I see the Plymouth Prowler, which is very very rarely. I happy when GM bumped those things up with the bigger V8. The first round with the 5.3L was like Mhem.

The funny thing is those are built on the same chasis as a Trailblazer.

Hard to tell but this is how the rig rests hitched-up.

Trip home from the dealership 200 miles away.

Love the Dodge 1/2 ton trucks. Wish I could get by with one.
