Repair Manual

I am looking for a good repair manual for a 1999 Chevy Suburban 2500. Does anybody have any opinions on what manual to get?
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
I had really good luck with the factory GM manual for my '77 K5 Blazer. I've used Haynes manuals for my daughter's '00 Honda Accord; my other kids '90 K1500 4X4, '91 C1500 stepside, the '92 K1500 4X4 one of my kids rolled and my '01 2500hd. I don't think the Haynes is as good as the Chilton or factory manuals are but the pictures are pretty good when you need them.

Thanks...I'll take a look at them. They seem to be hard to find but maybe I am not looking hard enough.

I have been able to purchase factory manuals at the dealerships for all my Jeeps. I imagine that they would be available at the GM dealership. While they may be spendy there is typically a lot of useful information. My manuals have paid for themselves many times over and being somewhat a gear head I enjoy understanding all about my particular vehicle.
Sometimes the manuals come up on ebay. Do a general internet search on automotive publications, I believe there is a company that sells most factory manuals. I had the chiltons and haynes but they typically make better door stops.

GM has gone over to computer based service manuals. They are easier to keep up to date. GM has sets of CD's for free standing single user applications for small dealers. You can buy a set of cd's and load them on your hard drive. I bought mine from a person on Ebay. Mine turned out to be illegal copies but they did work. They takes about 10 meg of storage. Wiring diagrams are harder to read than the large old fashion blue print types. The method of organization is also different so you have to get used to that.
