QX56-Intrnational28 Go/NoGo?

Proses trailer: 2015 International 28 GVWR 7,600Lbs
Is the tow vehicle adequate for this set up? I'm a little concerned about the TV wheel base. I appreciate the feedback.

I think my wheel base is shorter (ML350) and my trailer is longer (30'Bunk). With a ProPride and proper weight distribution it should do a great job.

Everyone I know with either of those tow vehicles has either a Hensley Arrow or a Pro Pride 3P.

We have a 2012 QX and tow our 25'. Gross is 7000# and toung weight is ~750#. Equalizer hitch.

QX does a great job, has plenty of power. We live in Colorado and regular tow through the Rockies.

No problem with our 2014 QX80 (same as QX56 re: towing) and 2011 25'FB twin using a Reese hitch.

The powers that be need to drop the new Cummins 5.0 in the QX series. What a rig that would be!!! At any price! I really miss my old diesel Excursions (3 in a row) until the last was totaled. A QX diesel would be the all time ultimate Airstream TV!!! Trade my ML350 Blutec in faster than the ink could dry. Guess I'll settle for the GL350 next go round.

We also have a '14 QX80 and have interest in towing our Airstream with it. Out of curiosity, what did you end up doing for a brake controller? I have read, but sadly not investigated yet, that there is a pre-wire harness under the dash? Right now we have a '14 F-150 with the integrated controller.

I can't speak to how well it performs, but the Tekonsha P3 is what I chose and it has great reviews. It also installs very cleanly onto the fuse box cover near the driver's left knee on the QX. If your QX has the tow package, it is prewired for a brake controller, the cable is already terminated with a plug and just needs to be release from its bundle beneath the steering column. I couldn't find it at first and actually had the Infiniti dealership release the break controller cable from the rest of the wires it was bundled with. Also, if you ever sell the QX and wish to keep the P3, you can simply buy another fuse box cover and you won't have to explain why there are two holes in the one the break controller was attached to.

I towed my '12 28' Intl CCD with a '13 QX 4WD VERY successfully. It has plenty of torque, and is fine to haul both the tongue and weight of the trailer. I used a ProPride 3P....which I also have on my new Classic. One of the big pluses of the Q is the terrific suspension. If you check with Andy T at CanAm (I had a conversation with him specifically about my Q as a TV). He thought it ideal because of the lower CG than a truck and the 4 wheel independent suspension. The only reason I went to a truck was for more hauling space. Once I put two Honda generators and two basset hounds in the back of the Q....well that was it. But, I LOVED it for towing.
