Question for Andy at Can-Am

Andy -

In the recent summer issue of Airstream Life, your towing write up "What's Wrong with the SAE Towing Standard?" has a picture of a hitch receiver stating that it is rated for 7200 lbs despite a questionable design. I am curious, what vehicle is that in your picture? It looks like some sort of small SUV like a Toyota.

The reason I ask is my second question: Which tow vehicle do you recommend for the following situation?

Items to be towed:
2014 16' Bambi Sport - ~3,500 GVWR (electric brakes)
Single axle bass boat - ~3,750 GVWR (surge brakes)

Potential tow vehicles:
2014 Toyota 4Runner - V6, 4WD, ~4,700 lb tow rating
2014 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab - V6, 4WD, ~6,500 lb tow rating

Would be using an Equal-i-zer hitch with 600 lb bars.

I am thinking your response is neither ... but considering these two options, which do you prefer? For reasons other than towing, I would like the 4Runner.

Thanks!

Didn't see the article but it sounds like you are describing the ML350 BlueTEC.
