Porsche Macan S and Airstream Sport 22
Macan S: anything I should beware of if I go for a Sport 22 instead of the 16?
Background:
The Macan S has a rated capacity of 4,409lb, which seems to allow towing an Airstream Sport 16 or 22. I've found several people who have used a Macan with a 16 and had positive reports, but no one who has tried a 22.
In Europe Macan is rated to 5,300 lbs. I think towing any of the trailers you mentioned would not be a problem. You may wish to reinforce the hitch, if needed. Can Am should know, if this is needed.

We tow our Sport 22 with our Ridgeline (not a Porsche) which is rated for 5,000 lbs. our Sport comes in around 4,100 lbs with stuff in it. The 22 has a light tongue weight 422 lbs from Airstream. But ours actually weighs in at 500 lbs. I think the option of reinforcing the hitch on the car would be a good move. The 22 is narrower at 7’-4” which helps with our towing experience. We also use a weight distribution hitch but many European cars/suvs don’t want a WDH used.
In the end you will need to determine if the load on the hitch can be handled by the car and still be able to carry stuff and people in the car without overloading the payload. That will be difficult without published numbers from Porsche.
