Besides uhaul, does anyone have any suggestions for rental of hardy tow vehicles for one week increments?
We vacation once or twice a year and do not need a daily driver which is capable of towing an airstream, wondering what outfits on a nationwide basis may rent such vehicles.
This place rents trucks and vans - from 1/2 to full ton. They allow towing (at least the one by me does) but their trucks do not have brake controllers. I think that will be your limiting variable ....
Note that Enterprise's website says that towing is only permitted for commercial rentals in the fine print at the bottom of the page. Maybe you need a shell company - something like "Annual Camping Week Industries."
You'd probably still need a brake controller. If the trucks have the factory tow packages (as opposed to just having a hitch bolted on to them), you could just use a Prodigy with the direct plug-in cable to go into the plug beneath the dash. Just buy a cable for a Ford, Dodge, and GM and use the one needed...
