The A.R.E. Series "Z" topper came in today so the "Green Manalishi" is going in for her install - can't wait to take her out and drive her - let alone take some pictures...

What is a "Green Manalishi"?

MacScheck F-350 King Ranch 4x4 SRW Diesel (400 hp & 800 lbs torque) arrived this week as well as the A.R.E. Series Z topper which I immediately had installed. Can't wait to take the Airstream out with her new Tow Vehicle and create some new adventures...

First Pictures - will post some better ones once I get a chance to give her a proper bath...

Looks good! Nice paint matchup on the topper too.

Good profile on the topper (roof & hatch).

Yea, I'm really happy with all the recommendations here on the A.R.E. Z series topper - and might I say very happy with the look as well as compared to my original first choice of tonneau cover over a topper...

John,

Did the bed liner come from ARE? Bed Rug Mat?

Yes, I ordered the truck with the Ford factory spray in bed liner than got the Bed Rug Mat (vice the Bed Rug which uses adhesive and covers the whole bed just like a standard bed liner). This was purchased through A.R.E. along with the series Z topper. Matches the liner on the topper perfectly!

Cleaned up my baby "The Green Manalishi" this morning then took her out and shot a few nice pictures of her before traversing some back logging roads - ended up in 4x4 low and locking the rear differential while crossing some water and snowmelt-soggy-muddy-wet-slick ground while going down into some valleys and back out again...

This truck can not get stuck - of course had to give her another bath once home. Oh - and she does pretty nice up at highway speeds (even when covered in mud and plant material)...

First weekend with her and the first real chance I've had to take her out and do some driving - like I said, can't wait to have her tow my 25FB Airstream Classic - I can already tell that this is going to be a nice, long term relationship!!!

Beautiful truck. Congratulations!

My wife and I are newbies, in the hunt for our first AS. Looking for a late model 25 to 28', we like the Flying Clouds. We plan to retire soon and spend considerable time on the road.

We are also looking for a tow vehicle. We drove the 2011 F150 with EcoBoost yesterday and my wife loves it. She is reluctant to drive a Ford Super Duty around town -- feels it is a monster. I'm leaning toward the F250 or F350 turbo diesel to give us sufficient power if we go with a trailer longer than 25 feet. Plus reading the Forums it seems as though the 3/4 ton or 1 ton will provide an extra margin of safety.

The F150 with EcoBoost is a nice vehicle with plenty of power. Assuming the engine and turbos hold up over time it will likely take some of the market from the 3/4 ton trucks, particularly for those who camp infrequently and tow a smaller trailer.

Best of luck with your new green machine.

Great looking TV. We need to see some shots of the truck with the Airstream hooked to her.

Can't wait to take the Airstream out with her new tow vehicle. So many sites I would overlook due to no power, or water, or sewer, etc. - Since on the verge of max weight with prior TV...

So many new places to go now - and with all my toys too!

That is the biggest station wagon I've EVER seen, oh wait... Just kidding, awesome truck John! I'm still considering my options on how to cover my bed.
