No one injured in I-29 camper rollover

http://www.argusleader.com/article/2...amper-rollover

A camper that jack-knifed and rolled over on Interstate 29 near Mile Marker 60 blocked both lanes of southbound traffic for a few hours early Friday evening. The vehicle pulling the camper did not roll over, and no one was injured. / Dalton Walker / Argus Leader Written by Argus Leader staff

A camper that jack-knifed near Mile Marker 60 on Interstate 29 blocked southbound traffic for a few hours this evening.

A 2011 Honda Pilot was pulling a camper and the camper began to swerve, then jack-knifed and rolled, disconnecting from the truck, according to Highway Patrol Sgt. Robert Schmidt. The camper blocked traffic in both southbound lanes.

No one was injured in the incident, Schmidt said. Traffic was detoured at Exit 62 and rejoined I-29 at Exit 59 until the camper could be moved.

Poor Choice

Of Tow Vehicles. Why do people insist on towing with these types of vehicles?

All other disagreements on tow vehicle selection aside, it doesn't seem to have had anything to do with this incident. If the trailer swayed and came loose from a 1-ton dually the result would have been the same, tow vehicle on its wheels and trailer tumbling.

We can only speculate as to the cause but as you say, the Honda is upright and unscathed.

We're happy no one was hurt. This is a busy road.

That trailer is way too much for that car. That car probably has a 3500# tow rating and that trailer probably has a 7000# gvw with a 6000# dry weight. WAY overloaded.

The Honda Pilot, depending on trim, has a tow rating of 5000# if I remember correctly.

I don't think this had anything to do with the TV.
