Here are the pictures I took this morning of the new Titan. No DEF gauge though I was surprised.

Not that I'm inclined to believe what dealers tell me (if a salesman said the sky's blue I'd probably glance up to double-check) but if the Titan+Cummins *starts* at $70k they're toast. They've been practically giving the old Titan away for years (because it's the oldest, thirstiest on the market) so even if the new one is the best thing since sliced bread they're going to have a big market perception problem for a while.

Then you look at the RAM 2500 with the proven Cummins and you'll see a tricked-out Laramie Limited 4wd is under $70k list, and they don't go for close to list. A dolled-up Sierra Denali 2500 4x4 with the Duramax lists under $67k. Imagining a Titan starting at $70k is some sort of salesman fantasy, like believing that dancer at his favorite bar really likes him.

A $70,000 base price for a half ton diesel truck with limited payload is somewhat scary. If that number is correct, adding some of the nicer options would quickly get to an $80,000 MSRP. I'm afraid that they won't sell a bunch of them at that price.

Hi from AZ. . . yep, $70k for a half ton truck is scary ! But I have to say sticker on an Ecoboost F150 dressed up is $65k these days & the Ram 1500 diesel is right at $60k End of year deals on Fords knock $12k+ off as you walk in the door & even Ram is starting to discount the Ecodiesel some. It will be interesting to see what real world prices on the Nissan are like. regards, Craig

I really do like Nissan's DEF filler spout next to the fuel spout. The DEF filler under the hood on our 2011 D'max takes a contortionist with three arms to add DEF. GM, take note.

70k!

Seventy thousand for a Nissan? HA!
You gotta be kidding me? Boy that's one little piece of metal that's gonna be sitting on a dealers lot for a VERY long time at that price. I wouldn't give a dime over 40k for it, even if I liked it. Good luck Nissan.

I just called my local dealer out of curiosity. He stated:
None arriving until late November-early-December here.

No capacities have been released to the US dealers.

Two models will be released. One gas, and of course the Cummins.

I asked about the price, and he said he "hadn't heard specifically" but "wouldn't doubt the 70k price tag on the Cummins equipped model."

Get the heck outta here Nissan. You're DREAMIN'!
NEXT!!!

$70k looks to be in Canadian dollars. If it's even true. Which I find highly suspect.

Aha! I missed the important detail that KEIZER is in Canada. Just the exchange rate brings that down to US$53k, if it's a tricked-out trim to get the diesel in the first place that plus the fact that even in same-dollar terms Canadians seem to pay a bit more for vehicles brings it at least closer to the realm of possibility.

Nissan with a Cummins?

It kind of tickles me when Airstreamers talk about trucks that so much emphasis is placed on looks. Check out the many Ecoboost, Ecodiesel, Nissan, Tundra, you name it any kind of truck thread and, so many posters are concerned about appearance -- too much chrome, looks like brand "x, too squat, too tall, too wide...

My truck is ugly. It is ten years old and has 191000 miles on it. It was never attractive and it, like me, is not the critter it once was.

But it tows my rig, here and there, near and far, without fail.

If the F150 Ecoboost, the Ecodiesel or the new Nissan with the Cummins will happily meet your towing needs, is for sale at a realistic price and your spousal unit approves, why would you care what it looks like?

It is a puzzlement...

Mike

The trucks from GM, Ford, Ram and Toyota all have attractive features or look like som other brand, but that Nissan is just stomp down, beat with an ugly stick unbefugly.
