We've been towing a 1995 Excella 1000 listed GVW 8300 lbs. with a 3500 Chevy Express with a 6 ltr engine and find it to be fine on flat or rolling but a little animic in the hills with a tendency to heat up if pushed too hard and with 11.5 mpg. Looking at a Nissan nv but had a Titan and it passed everything but gas stations. Still on the fence for a better tow vehicle and don't want a pick up.

I have a 2004 Titan and it has proven to be an excellent tow vehicle. The 5.6 is not frugal on gas (10-11 mpg towing) but it has been bulletproof. So has the transmission. Now at 167000 miles and I am hoping to squeak out one more season. These are the same units used in the NV

Research, research, research...

I actually like the look of them and even drove one. I ended up getting another sequoia though. The fit and finish seem a little cheap; also, it doesn't switch up between cargo and passenger uses as well. For example the seats don't fold or flip out of the way. They have to be completely removed. Also the rear seating is much higher than the front seating so it's hard to see out the back. As far as the capacities, they seem as good as they get and the small rear over hang is a plus, so I'd bet it'd tow great. If I had a dedicated tv that might be it. Good luck.
