We were also able to go to a weight station the next day after picking up the 23D before really driving anywhere and it was reassuring to see that the right stuff seemed to be going on with the weight distribution system. Post it so we can sort of compare : )

Will do. I'll post the readings from the weigh station. There won't be anything in the trailer and the WD will be on, so should be a pretty accurate dry weight, albeit the dealer will likely provide full LP tanks.

SeaAirstream... I opted to keep one of the full propane bottles at home while I travel. I too am evaluating my current setup so lightening the load wherever possible. Also doing 100% of packing in the back of the trailer and very little in the bed of the truck. Pulling a 27 Eddie Bauer that is tongue heavy by nature. (15% dry - so my assumption is they encourage back loading in the EB toy hauler)

How was the driving?
Did you have any issues with the TT LED lights hooked up to the LR4? We're still working on fixing this issue.
Does your LR4 have the and surround view mirrors? Don't remember if that came out in 2014 or earlier.

Pulls great. Unhooking can be a challenge with the constantly leveling air ride suspension. Getting the tension off the ball can be hard. She flies over the mountain, but you can feel the wheel base length at times.

In terms of weights the trailer with a full tank of water and lp was 6000 pounds. Nothing else in it. The tounge weight was 900 pounds dropped directly on to the scale and not hooked up. I'm using distribution to help and not loading too much up front.

We always just leave the drivers door open when unhooking, this should stop the constant leveling of the air suspension.

@SeaAirstream I am buying a 2016 25FB....and planning to tow with my 2012 LR4. I realize most of these posts are 1+ years old...how has your experience been since then towing your 27 with the LR4? I'm looking at getting the E2 hitch with weight distribution....but like you were, i'm panicking a bit about making sure I dont make a big mistake. Eager to hear how your experience has been! thx

No issues to date. The number that I continue to monitor is rear axle weight on the LR4, which is directly related to how much stuff is in the vehicle and the tongue weight. Brakes and engine wise this thing tows lights out. Note I have the V8 2013 LR4. Some day still plan to buy a super duty, because while an F150 would give me a longer wheel base and less weight issues, but not remove all the weight issues, it would not tow up a hill and stop like the Rover does. My two cents on the truck comments. Lots of smart and passionate people can opine on truck options in the forum. Overall I'm still happy with my decisions and had a great trip for the fourth. @SeaAirstream thanks a lot for the feedback. taking delivery tomorrow morning....the E2 weight distribution hitch should reduce my tongue weight to well below the 770 that is stated on the receiver.

Thanks for the update, it is reassuring. I have an LR4 with the big V8 as well and plan to pull a AS 23' CB Bunk that is a little heavy, but not as heavy as what you have. Glad to hear you haven't had any issues and love the LR4 as a tow vehicle. Our first trip is in a month and we are going for it, cross country style from Dallas to Big Sur and back over 2 weeks.

Congrats and safe travels on your first trip! I am taking delivery of an 07 25ft Ocean Breeze in a few weeks, towing with an LR4 (v8) as well. This thread was very helpful in calming anxiety about towing with the LR4.
Have you (or anyone) modified the hitch on their Land Rovers? Or is the stock quick release hitch receiver stamped at a 770# tongue weight what people are using?
