Converting a jack knife sofa into a bed is one thing. Converting the dinette is a whole other ballgame. It is too much work for me. Even when sleeping on the couch I don't bother making it into a bed. I just sleep on the couch as is.

What is "jack knife sofa"

Is it the sofa that is used in new AS's that fold into a bed?

They also have like an l-shaped "sofa" that is a bit different it seems

Another observation on Express vs. Econoline- the short and long Express are on different wheel bases- the long one moves the rear wheels further back for better load handling and towing. The Econoline short and long ride on the same wheel base with the long one having an extra foot and a half of van hanging further out behind the rear axle. This makes the rear sit and the front go up when loaded or hitched to a trailer. A weight distributing hitch may overcome some of this, but it has an easier job on the Express.

The 6 Express vans we have bought since April get their first 6 oil changes and tire rotations free.

Is anyone towing with the newer style Nissan van. Looks to have a nice stable wide track. I've never looked closely at one so have no personal opinion other than I'm beginning to see more and more on the road. Not sure if they are equipped or designed to be a good tow vehicle.

You grab the bottom cushion, lift up and out. The back cushion falls flat. The whole thing flat is about the size of a full size bed.

Are you talking about the Quest or the NV2000?

I have seen complaints on here about the comfort of the L-shaped sofa.

This was my assumption - we have decided that it will be the real sofa or bunkhouse

Best deal?

Hi, admittedly I scanned the thread without reading every word, but will give you something to think about. Getting factory rebates is usually the best way to get a good discount. Haggling the price has many factors and the dealer will ultimately win. They can give huge discounts and turn a round and get all of it back, and more. Take the rebates, put a large down payment on it, and have good/great credit ratings. [best way] Dealers make their money on financing, trade-ins, and add-ons. I.E. Give you a $3,000.00 discount, give you less than half of wholesale for your trade-in, add financing for less than good credit ratings, sell you ESP [extended service plan] and add that to the amount financed, wax treatments, alarms, window etching, and the list goes on. Next thing you know, your back to what I call a "List, Plus Ten Percent" discount. And you got $500.00 for your trade-in that you could have easily sold for $2,000.00 or more.

Note: numbers are fictitious to serve as an example only.

My last two cars were discounted, no trade in, no financing, and no extras. They hated me.
