New Tow Vehicle available...

OK, for all you folks who think that the Duramax and the Ford 6L diesels in their one-ton offerings are just too wimpy, there's a new kid on the block: the Navistar Pickup. Starting at just $93k, it's targeted at all of us who use our pickups for grocery shopping and wheeling in and out of fast food places.

Here's a peek:

New Navistar Pickup

There is a black one at the Chevy dealer on my way home. I figured it might be a one-off custom job for towing rv's, race car trailers, or commercial trailers. But at that price, I'll take two!

Don't want a 4x2. Think they will make one with 4 wheel drive?

I rode in the front seat of an Internationl ambulance. I'm not sure if it had springs installed or not. It rode like a lumber wagon.

According to the company's website, it is. MSRP $115k. And a towing capacity of 40,000 pounds. Roger can get three more trailers like the one he has now, and have a wagon train...

Sure seems like alota $$$, for medium duty truck, with a chevy bed on it. For that price, there should be a lift gate included as standard equipment.

Opp's, that must be a Ford bed, they claim 6 tons of carring capacity in it on their web site, must be some heavy double wall construction !

Will need a down payment.

Having been recently married,
I will turn over the first, second and third born
as down payment.

They have that DT466 turned down real low, only 220 HP. A Duramax, Dodge or PS would probably out pull it, in as is stock configuration.

Although that may be true, the International engines are rated for 500,000 miles before overhaul.

Then again for the price difference, you could overhaul your Duramax several times!

I'll take a diesel with 400 ft-lbs torque at 800 rpm anyday. Neither Duramax, Dodge, or PS can match that low end power!

run away!

i just got a new international 4700 at work, top of the line truck.

the cab is great, controls well thought out. the 466E is a great motor when new but, they wear fast and loose power after about 40k. then they smoke.

all in all, a nice medium duty truck. it does ride like a lumber wagon!! then again, mine scales out around 26,000 lbs.

gotta love that chrome grill
