Complaining about "stinky" diesel engines can only mean that you are unfamiliar with the new "Clean Diesel" technology available in Mercedes and Dodge RAM vehicles: No odor, no smoke, great torque and great mileage.

Check them out, you will be surprised.

I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the 5.7 Hemi. It is a great all around vehicle. Recently while at the local dealership getting some work done I mentioned to the service manager that I was thinking of swapping for a new diesel GC. He said do not do that. They are having too many of them back in the shop for major warrenty work with the engines. He had two in the shop waiting for new engines to come in. I was disappointed to hear that.

guess ya haven't driven behind the Edo Diesel .... its emissions are steam and a little water. Since DEF, the gassers are the polluters.

My 2009 Dodge CTD is pre DEF and the only time you can smell anything is during a regeneration process at a traffic light. The exhaust pipe is as clean as the day it was new!

Hi, I do appreciate the new clean diesels, but we still have decades of old dirty diesels still on the road and they will still be on the road for decades to come, especially those who want to get their million miles worth out of them; Even though the rest of the vehicle will be virtually junk.
