Hmmm, that would spice things up. If I ever get out of the flatlands that might come in handy. 7.1 ltr, but I weight in at 11,, my tow vehicle, not me Don't expect even my old 31 Sov will push her around very much though.

UPDATE 1-Ford, Navistar settle engine dispute | Industries | Consumer Goods & Retail | Reuters

Ford & Navistar have reached a final settlement as they disengage their longstanding business relationship. Ford will make an undisclosed payment to Navistar and their F-series diesel relationship ends 12.31.2009. Navistar claimed breach of contract over Ford planning a 4.4L diesel for the F-150. Also settled were other pricing and warranty claims.

I happened to see this. Others certainly have a better idea what Ford plans to do next.

That's going to be interesting for folks who want to purchase a 3/4 and 1 ton trucks in 2010. Ford must have something up it's sleeve for the larger displacement engines.

A 4.4L diesel doesn't sound like much of a brute. Or are they building a bigger one too?

Something around 6.5 liter, also single turbo. A very strong pulling motor.

Chrysler is in big trouble, I suspect from the grape vine that they will have to sell out, and all they really have to offer is the Jeep brand. They keep wanting more money, but the handwriting is on the wall. So, it may very well be the big 2 in the next few years. Too bad, they have some great vehicles, just a poor reputation for quality.
