Hi Steve. You'll love the quadcab too. See you in Branson in a few weeks.

i just got a new 2007 crew cab with a 4.8 ,i treaded my 99 ford f350 deisel on it so i will need a smaller airstream then i wanted , dont even have a hitch on it yet.

note :: i just went to the dealer to get some more keys made ,i did not know they were coded with a chip and at $60.00 they can keep them,
any one know a cheeper way ?????

i was thinking of getting a key lock box like they use in commercial buildings. the spare would go in there and the box keys sure are cheaper. unlocking the door? i'd use a hidden switch to trip the power locks.

I'll be real interested in hearing how the 5.3 does towing. I'm considering getting one in an extended cab GMC, but also considering the 3/4 ton with the diesel engine. Just hate to part with that much money if it's not necessary. The 4.7 liter Dodge pickup I'm now driving is just not enough with our 23' if we ever get into the mountains.

Foy your current rig, I would say that a 5.3 will be plenty. My friend has the diesel 3/4 ton and uses it to haul 17,000 lbs of horses and trailers around in a gooseneck. This engine is powerful enough to drag the heavy little trailer around.

On the keys. If you just want to be able to get in the vehicle, not start it, go to a locksmith and get a key without a chip for a few bucks. A good locksmith can also set you up with a key with the chip, probably for less than the dealer.
