My next tow vehicle choice?
Nice discussion of towing vehicles.
I am working on a budget. I plan to get a 28 to 31 foot airstream, upgrade the interior (and possibly electrical) as much as possible, which 'should' lighten it up some. I also would like to purchase an older diesel 4x4 or dual axle pickup, something I can find parts for and fix on the road. (3/4 to 1 ton)
Should I look for something that has lower gearing for towing?
I can upgrade the suspension and brakes pretty easily if needed. I hope to have around 3 to 6 months to work on it hardcore before hitting the road.
Is there a site with AS specs as far as weights and capacities?
What about AS features? (showers, kitchens etc.)?
Thanks in advance. I can't wait to go from planning to implementing then finally doing some short term testing runs!
