My new TV (Tow Vehicle)
I couldn't resist....
I could make all the excuses of why I "needed" one. I could have gone into the space I needed, the smoother ride...
I couldn't help myself on watching the new 08 Super duties and all new trucks in general take a nosedive in price. Employee pricing drove the surplus inventory on the lots way down, which then in turn drove the used market even further...It boiled down to I wanted one, and the market is good right now...
So good for me.... Now is the time to buy if you can find the right vehicle and buy right (end of the month also helps too).
Lookie at what I got now.... the Excursion will be detailed and going up for sale shortly....
A used 2008 (Job 3) Ford Super Duty F250 King Ranch. 4500 miles, 1 owner. Got her for over 20K off the original sticker, 10K better than the current employee pricing. What a deal. Even the trailer hitch has has never been used - no tell tail wear or scrapes in the reciever box - still virgin.
Cosmo will be the lucky trailer to break her in....
I must say - I thought I wasn't gonna like the King Ranch leather - but so soft... I like it now!!
Can't wait to tow Cosmo with her, but I gotta order a different Hensley shank first....
Kevin

Congrats on the new ride. I know you will love that truck. We have an 01 F350 Crew/SW /Longbed 7.3 liter. I know its alot of truck but you will never regret your purchase. The fuel mileage will not be at its best till the engine is broken in around 60k miles. Watch were you buy fuel, fuel only at high volume stations, such as truckstops. We purchase ours at 5500 miles,it Was a FORD MOTOR buy back.LEMON ! What I found was WATER,in the fuel seperator, not even the dealer caught it.I have 45 yrs experience with diesels, trust me, Regular service and changing oil at at no more than 10K miles and Fuel filters at the same time and air filters every 25 to 30 k this engine will last 500k miles.
Best of Luck to U

Beautiful! You shouldn't have any trouble pulling with that one! Nothing like a new TV to make an AS smile!

good find bandit!
given the 09s are gonna be delayed some, buying a barely used 08 is a good move.
now let the accessorizin' begin
while i don't care for the color of the kr leather, it is REALLY SOFT and smells great!
and without the long bed or dual rear wheels, it is still sort of a compact car in texas...
cheers

Congratulations! I took advantage of the same deals on the same day. It's funny because I was at the dealership at the beginning of June and they let me walk away from a 2005 King Ranch. This time they wouldn't let me leave on a 2005 Lariat. They claim they lost $2,700 on the deal.

I was perusing Ford's "build your own" part of their site the other day. I ticked off all the stuff I wanted, the color I wanted, accessories, etc. For a gas engine, manual transmission F250 standard cab, long bed, the total was around $30,000. I then clicked the "find one locally" link, and found an extended-cab, diesel, automatic, with almost everything I had checked off (wrong color), for $21,000.
They truly are trying to give them away right now, and if you are in a position to get one (I'm not, yet), you can steal one without having to use a gun...

Hi 2Air,
I'm with you, at first I didn't like the leather color, but once I drove it, and the price I paid, I figure they are paying me to like the color!!
I have leather in my Excursion, but after riding the KR leather, wife and I were commenting how much the Excursion felt like vinyl.
Today I've spend most of the day removing and swapping between the trucks.
Removed:
- Backup Camera
- Sirius Radio
- GPS
- Pressure Pro Tire monitors & Display
- CB
- P3 controller
- High-watt backup lights
Swapped: - Batteries (Super Duty factory batts to Excursion, Die Hard AGMs to Super Duty
It's darn near 100 degrees right now and I need a break before I continue with all the electronics migration....
The P3 will be going up for sale on the forums classified shortly, as well as the Excursion (Prodigy placed in that one for now)
I'm leaving the front hitch and airbags on the truck.... I'm not that motivated in this heat to piece her out that bad for a few more bucks.
Removing the plastic bedliner and getting a spray in will be next on the list.
Anyone have any brand recommendations? I had a Rhino lining in the past on my 2000 GMC that was great, but now there seems to be other brands since then....

I too took advantage of the A plan pricing incentive. GM has 0 percent with no incentives and their employee discount is not as good as Ford's. So my wife and I cannot wait to take off this winter pulling with the new Lariat. It's a beauty.
