Brian,
I have a 2018 GMC Duramax on order. I am considering getting and ARE cap on it for storage and security when traveling. I have 2 EU2000’s I was planning on trying to run from inside to the cap. I was considering running the exhaust thru a port to the outside. I am not sure how much heat will build up in the cap. Can you share your experience?
Gary

(I have an EU6500 at the house, but it is way to heavy to transport. I got rid of a 3000 due to the weight. I like the portability of the 2000’s - I have not tried running them to power the AC when it was hot.).

Hi Gary. My experience with my "new" system has been limited to tests. Running the Honda 3000 with the exhaust pipe running to the outside seems to work well. I am trying to control the inside temperature of the truck topper by slightly opening the front window in the topper and running my exhaust fan in the roof of the topper. This seems to work well, but, thus far, i have been able to test it only in the cooler weather.

As to using your two Honda 2000s to run the air conditioner, i can attest that they can do the job. I had two 2000s for 10 years, and used them extensively to run our air conditioner. I always used these outside the trailer, though.

Check on Ebay. I believe that there are after-marketeers offering exhaust extension options for Honda 2000s.

TruckSlide Cargo Access System from TSO Products. It holds 2000 lbs. I like the 5 inch high walls. Keeps most things from falling off. Holes in the wall for tie downs. Diamond plate is an option. Why wouldn't you get diamond plate?

Brian,
Thank you for your input. I have search the “exhaust hoods” i have seen on ebay for the 2000. It looks like they are catching both the exhaust and the air outlet. I can imagine in tight quarters the heat buildup will be significant. I was originally thinking about a manifold to connect to both of my 2000’s exhaust, and port it outside through either a hot water heater exhaust port (on the cap). As for the waster heat, i was thinking about a fantastic fan in the roof of the cap. I did not consider using the front window of the cap as an intake for cool air. Did you install your vent in the roof -or was it an option on your specific cap? I was looking at a fiberglass model with swing (lift) to open side windows. These are not as aesthetic as the knob style frameless windows that are the other option.

2016 Ford Diesel Ultra Lariat

I like lights so I added Big Rig Ice lights to the running boards. They are amber and change to white when you open the door.
I also put lights on the rear. Again they are red, brake, and change to white in reverse.
Titan 50 gallon mid ship fuel tank to replace the OME.
Transfer Flow 50 gallon in the front of the bed with a fuel pump wired to up fitter switch.
Back flip tonnow cover and spray in bed liner.
Lund bug guards and window shades all around.
And bigger floor protector mats.

I did these mods to my 3/4 ton:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f463...des-51433.html

I also added slotted front Raybestos front rotors and brake pads. Will be adding a Mag-Hytec differential cover in the near future.

2015 Ram 3500 CTD with 6 spd stick, 4x4, Club Cab, 8' Bed, Laramie Pkg.

1.) Manual transmission. That Cummins shifts when *I* want it to... ;-)

2.) Laramie trim pkg. Big, comfortable leather seats with built in tushy coolers and bun warmers. (I'm serious - best options, ever!)

3. Highway Products "Pickup Pack" Aluminum diamond plate combo: 8' side tool boxes, raised bed cover, and bed roller. I carry expensive toys like Yamaha gennys, ViAir compressor and lots of tools. Pickup Pack keeps 'em all well secured and out of site. Bed roller is great - I'm too old and fat to crawl in and out of a pickup bed...

4. *Good* mudflaps.

5. AirSafe hitch (used in combo with Equilizer). It makes TT and TV suspensions totally independent of each other - much smoother ride and less wear and tear on some very expensive toys!

Photos in my Gallery...

Tim

On our 2013 F-250, 6.2 we added a 1 gallon on-board compressor for our rear air bag suspension aide as we also camp with a Lance slide-on in addition to our AS. We added a front receiver hitch that carries our truck spare tire. We found that with the slide-on camper in place, the spare tire crank-down hole was covered. Since the truck has electric fans for cooling, the tire in front has never caused an overheating problem, it surely makes the spare easy to keep clean and get in an emergency. Carry a second AS spare where the truck spare used to be. Other things we added include a truck cap(AS towing/camping), an aftermarket diamondplate steel bumper($6 more than the factory sheetmetal replacement OE bumper) which replaced a damaged OE bumper. Would like to find some very loud aftermarket electric horns to replace OE units. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Jim & Gretchen

For our 2012 F250 6.7, we've got an airbag suspension system (from previous owner), ATC camper shell and Rhino Roof Rack system, ProPride hitch, and hardwired Wilson 4gX cell phone booster.

I just added a Viking dual air horn to replace the OME horns. I had to make a wood block to space it out. It hangs down from the factory location. I put the dual compressors in the airway to the filter. I also had to change the fuss to a 30 amp.
