Mirror Extensions - Milenco or Bust?

A question for the community: where do you buy your Milenco mirrors?

The Grand Aero seems to be a great option for my LR4, but can't find them anywhere outside the UK: http://www.milenco.com/products/mirrors/milenco-grand-aero-towing-mirror/

There seems to be knock-off versions available on Amazon, but the reviews are not as good. Anyone know where to buy them and/or have other recommendations for purchase? Pick up day is 9 days away and trying to get prepared to pick up our new Airstream adventure!

Oops. I was trying to send you to a previous post but really have no clue on how to do it. Milenco mirrors can be purchased on line from Costco. They have longer arms than the UK version due to the extra width of our Airstreams. Mine have been working great. One did fall off after being clubbed by a bird. I turned around and pick it up and put it back on since it only suffered minor skid damage. Tougher than the bird. Jim

The genuine article is listed on Amazon as "JR Products 2912 Grand Aero Towing Mirror - Pair." It is my understanding that JR Products is the importer/distributor in the US.

I got mine from Amazon and they certainly are not knock-offs. Best mirrors that I have found for my Jeep GC.

Aside: I cut 5 inches off the arms to get them closer to the mirror. It was unnessary for them to be sticking out so far. I had a fear of them being clipped by a passing truck. While vibration was not really an issue there is less with the shorter arms.

Do they make extensions for factory tow mirrors that don't quite extend far enough?

We bought a different set of Milenco's they JR. We liked them BUT had a lot if vibration when attached to our Sprinter mirrors. Also, I wanted a flat (rather than convex) mirror on both sides because the Sprinter already has convex mirrors both sides that cover the guys moving in close. We wanted the Milencos to see farther behind than the factory mirrors alone. After having one knocked off by a bus alongside (no damage to either vehicle or to the mirror), we decided to listen to our favorite service guy at AS. Having driven Interstates and towing AS for years, he found wider mirror unnecessary. After four years without, we agree! The stock Sprinter mirrors let you see well back for changing lanes, and the smaller convex ones below are the second and last moment check for a small vehicle that may have snuck into the blind spot that the flat mirrors don't catch.

Like the Chief, when I was using these mirrors ( I no longer use them ) I too cut some length from the rod.
Hint: use your tubing cutter that is used for cutting copper plumbing pipe. Makes a nice clean cut of the rod. A little dab of paint and you're done.
Nice mirror add-ons. Worked well when I used them.
