I'll bet that Reese never had that in mind for their hitch...
Interesting wood underpinings.

A sharp turn must be really interesting. I wonder if that tailgate is rated for a 1400# tongue weight.

The 1/8 inch S hooks are ingenious. They should do the job holding that tailgate up. Somebody stop this guy before he kills someone!

Hey, at least he didn't chuck his receiver hitch - found a new use for it in the "ball-less" category...

Aaron, I think this was spotted somewhere in Utah, so you should be safe in NC

Taking The 5th

Utah Style...
and thats NOT in Alabama

He's hooked up and ready to fly!! It's amazing how the extra weight really smoothed out the ride in the truck. He did have to air up the rear tires a bit (around 160 psi)

He added some heavy-duty chain for extra support on the tailgate (note that he used the "Heavy-Duty 'S' hooks to attach the chain) He also paid-up for some BIG 5/16 sheetmetal screws to attach the frame to the tailgate. Yeah, he knows it's overkill, but he didn't want the possibility of having an accident.

Much of his time was spent on his front porch whittling down that MASSIVE 4x4 board to fit precisely into the ball mount receiver. Also note that he used a 14" piece of 1x4 to help distribute the load more evenly--"YOU CAN"T BE TOO SAFE, YOU KNOW!!". " It cost a little more, but you just can't be too safe when pulling a trailer of this magnitude !!".

UN-beleiveable!

Simply UN-beleiveable... I am speechless for once.

wow

People really are stup*d as rocks sometimes.... IMO. Would LOVE to see the DOT guys and the ticket they would write up for this guy.

This has "FATALITY" written ALL over it. With luck it would only be the TV/Trailer combo.... but this looks so bad, for SO MANY reasons...

Wonder what the Ins. Co. would say about a claim with that rig?

Yikes!

Thanks for whomever found/ posted that one! Real eye-opener!

Now where did I put that old owner's manual? I think it said I could tow 2,000 lbs,or was it 20,000. Well, the guys down at the plant said a Chevy s-10 Blazer with a v-6 will tow anything! But,next week I'am a gonna take them old fenders off so the new 454 with the blower will fit,and add air shocks to the back ta level it out a little bit.Should be a hoss when I get-r-done.

This has to be a hoax. I do not believe it is real for the following reasons.
  1. If that thing could even move, the front wheels would not have enough traction to steer.
  2. If it could get any speed at all the exhaust fumes would be sucked into the TV.
  3. The front of the trailer is inches away from the back of the TV. If the TV was to turn (see #1) the trailer would hit the TV.

In Agreement with Richard

Yes, the trailer would hit the tow vehicle if it were to turn. I think it's a big effort in creating a hoax.
