Thanks, Albert!

A neighbour of ours is a former long-haul trucker. I asked him once what he thought the worst pass in Canada was, and he named the Kootenay Pass!

And what would the Kootenays do without all you Albertans to keep our economy going?

I tow with a Peugeot 508SW 2.2 litre diesel, which is adequate for normal conditions, struggles a bit with the Alps, but good for everyday use as well. You guys over the pond are fortunate that you have cheap fuel so you can use gas guzzlers. Fuel prices in the UK have been as high as £1.50 a litre here in the UK (that's pounds stirling, not dollars or Euros, litres not gallons) although prices have come down a little recently. So we tend to go for smaller, more gutsy vehicles.
