If I had to choose a new make of TV it would be...
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Thought this would be an interesting question since brand loyalty seems to be so strong with some folks. I’m also interested to see what others second choice would be. So, you have to pick a NEW make of TV other than your current one.
I will start.
Current TV: Toyota Tundra
Next choice: GMC 3/4 ton Diesel

I made the jump to the gmc 3/4 ton gmc diesel from a 1/2 ton suv for my 30’. Haven’t looked back

Well the Dodge/RAM boys are pretty pissed with their transmissions and subsequent recall, so I can't say you'll see too many FCA products on the wish list.
I currently tow my 1991 Geo Metro convertible with my 1983 Airstream 310 turbo diesel. I'd like to switch it up for this year and give the Airstream a break; hopefully will get better mileage with the Geo.

No problems with my ram transmission.....if there was ,it can be fixed, and I would buy another, as there is no such thing as too much money or horsepower..

Dream truck?
A Honda V-8 with a tow package capable of 10,000#, transmission cooler, 10 speed tranny, coil springs. Large disc brakes. Built in brake controller.
20MPG highway, 15 in town, 14 towing.
Rear vision camera even in "D", touch screen navigation.
Ding resistent door panels.

Santa delivered an F250 FX4 last night. Now I just need a longer drop shank for my e2 hitch. And 500 miles of break in driving.
Replacing my TDI Touareg. Loved the car, pulled without issue. Just really low payload capacity overall.

I also have no problem with my 2011 Ram Transmission. And would buy another Ram. Only this time it would be a gas truck.

Hmmm....
Currently towing with a K2500 Chevrolet Suburban and a big block gasoline engine. The next vehicle needs to have as much or more HP and torque. Might consider trying a 1500/150 depending on brand and it would be nice to have higher fuel economy. Perhaps a Ford? Maybe a Dodge? I'm not that interested in Toyota or Nissan although I'm confident they make good vehicles.
Sounds a little crazy but Ford Flex has always been on my "radar screen" and I'm sure Andrew T could outfit a Flex to tow our 29' Classic if I could come to the realization that it's possible to travel with less stuff.

We bought a 3.5 Ecoboost with the ultimate tow package. I am pulling a 27 international and no problems. We are not full timing however we camp once a month. Traded in a F250 diesel. It was a good choice for us.

This issue is quite timely for me. I decided to trade in my 2015 Ram/Cummins 2500 for a 3500 diesel. I thought I'd try a GMC, but I found two problems:
1. The 2018 GMC 3500 Denaili does not come in arctic white, which is what I wanted --- GMC and the dealers (according to their inventory) want you to buy a black Denali, which, although handsome, is not what I want.
2. The Ram dealers were remarkably more generous both in both their trade-in offers and their quotes for a new 2018 Ram/Cummins Laramie --- as in $7,000 more generous. I went to three different GMC dealers, and the $7K difference was the best of them --- in my experience, they just didn't want to come much off KBB trade-in prices or MSRP prices.
Bottom line: I ordered the Ram, which I'm told I should be able to pick up before the end of the year.
I should add that I have had no trouble whatsoever with my 2015 Ram/Cummins 2500 in over 30K miles. It has done everything I wanted it to do without complaint --- and my local Ram dealer has provided excellent & reasonably priced service for it.

We just bought a Ford F-250 Diesel - and love how it tows our 25 Ft Flying Cloud. We recently ordered a 33 ft Classic and wanted the extra towing & load capacity.

Merry Christmas to all and thank you for this forum for discussing questions we Airstreamers develop. Currently we have an ‘09 F150 Supercab with a 4.6L engine (Big Red). Last month with three grandchildren aged 5,3,& 2 we were “cramped” in our drives around Georgia with no room for porta potty inside TV. “Big Red” tows renovated 26 foot, 1964 Overlander (Gracie) adequately at 60/65 MPH (except for hills). Dream TV would be an SUV, like the new Ford Expedition XL (too expensive for our budget) with 10,000+ lbs towing AND TOW MIRRORS, brake controller, transmission cooler, adequate payload and MPG at same level as a similarly equipped 1/2 ton pickup AND at a similar price to a comparably equipped F150 XLT. This is the why Question: we have looked at Ford, Nissan & Toyota 1/2 ton pickups with tow packages and ALL require special ordering these 1/2 ton pickups to obtain these relatively inexpensive mirrors!

We just started RVing this year, May to be exact, with a 2015 Classic and a F 250, 6.7 Diesel, a 2016 I picked up used with 17 K miles on it. So far I'm happy with the Ford. I now have 28 K miles on it. It runs well, pulls the classic as if it weren't there, so no complaints. I also get decent mileage. Non towing 21/highway, 16-17 city. Towing between 13.5 and 14.5/highway, with the Classic on the back.
I like the Ford, but that wouldn't prevent me from looking at other makes. I have no loyalty to car makers, as I believe that changes in models and specs make for completely different units from yr to yr. I would look at Nissan, but otherwise, probably stay with the Ford, unless the price for an equivalent truck was substantially less.

Plan is to not purchase a new one, but if ---- Next tow vehicle will be a custom Paccar non-commercial tow specific design with tri-mode self driving control. electric propulsion, and extendable maintenance warranty contract. Expect to sell my left kidney and a bottle of vintage desert wine to fund purchase. Should be available for order in 2028, given that the highway system is still capable of travel. If not, the levitation mode suspension will have to be added to both TV and Coach. Pat

GMC 2500HD Duramax Diesel. Purchased new in 2008. Currently has 169k on odometer. No engine or transmission issues. Have replaced a glow plug, power steering hose, and trans line. Towed my 25 foot AI with a 1500 sierra. It was barely adequate for the job. Bought my 2500 and never looked back.
The Duramax easily tows my 30 foot AI.
Second choice Ford F250 powerstroke

I was a fairly consistent GM guy until my Son talked me into trying Fords for our new service trucks. They have worked out so well for us that I started buying them for my personal truck as well. And after the the GM bailout I wouldn't buy one in any event.
