Question Hope I can find one - 1/2 ton truck

Well I got mounds of help from everyone about what to tow my trailer with.....wellllll I went looking for a 2004-2007 1/2 ton today only to find out from many sources that because of the cash for clunkers, all the used trucks were sky high and to wait until December when things calm down. Any thoughts? I live in Northern Calif. about 25 miles from San Francisco. Thanks again Dave.

Hi, keep looking and you should find what you want, but what is the difference between "Sky High" and what you expect to pay? [$$$$$]

We have plenty of 'em

My brother lives in Monterey, Calif. Had trouble finding the "deal" so I looked around here (Texas) for him. Found a 2006 Dodge with Cummins diesel, 4 x 4, way over fully equiped, with many add ons. He saved enough on it to pay for the trip out here, a week at Padre, the trip back and still saved a bunch. Look around the internet, Carfax it, come get it.
Good luck. This is a good time of the year to buy here too.

Well I'll look at Craigslist haven't hade much help yet though. And I have been looking but a 2004 out here may cost 22000. That is WAY too high. Thanks again Dave

I don't see how the 'cash for clunkers' program would affect the supply of trucks in the 2004-2007 cohort. Wouldn't you expect them to be a little pricy to be turned in for $4500?

Maybe the dealer is just giving you the price pitch. I know we have many in Minnesota that are way below $22000. Especially if you tell the dealer you're gonna walk away.

Ok me again....I want to explain something.....I just talked to a few friends and unfortunately they have different trucks ( xcept for the nissan which I am not counting..no not a titan) OK.....I will be pulling my 27 foot wilderness 1997, about 5 times a year maybe more. The rest of the time I will just pull my small utility trailer to the dump. I really would like to get SOME decent mileage that is why I am not going with a much bigger truck. OK so lets hear what would you consider best I hear 4.7 would work but I'm not sure if Ford, GMC, or Chevy is best in this situation. I think a Tundra would suck the gasometer dry. Again thanks so much for your output....Dave
