We are just starting with a trailer and she is a 1955 Overlander. Currently we have no tow vehicle. I have pulled her nicely with a Honda Ridgeline and an F-150. I would like to go with a Honda Pilot but a tad nervous, especially with a the shorter 109" wheelbase. Thoughts?
What's the tow rating of the Pilot vs. the weight of the trailer? A good rule is to not tow at your max tow rating but to give yourself some leeway for cargo, fuel and passengers.
It looks like the pilot has a tow capacity of 2000 lbs in 2WD and 4500 lbs in 4WD. I think your trailer is 3550 lbs dry ( no water, propane, cargo ). You have to add passengers and cargo in the tow vehicle into the equation.
