Ram 1500 ecodiesel vs 2500 Cummins

Last year we bought a 2015 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel after much research. Loved it, loved the ride, handling, and fuel economy. It pulled our 25 flying cloud nicely. But after engine problems twice by 4000 miles we traded for a 2500 Cummins. Yes it feels like a bigger truck, but certainly pulls well, feels safe. And the coil spring rear suspension has a panhard rod so handling is secure. We are happy with the 2500!

I enquired about extending my UConnect subscription that came with my 2016 RAM 6.7 beyond the six month trial period. I was looking forward to using it on an upcoming trip to Alaska.

Their phone rep said that UConnect uses the Sprint network. It does not work at all in Canada and according to her is very spotty in Alaska. She said that UConnect is not willing to pay the roaming fees required when a Sprint signal is absent

I wondered why they chose Sprint... Surprisingly, it has worked well on the East coast so far but...it's a matter of time.

You can take this with a grain of salt but I read an article last year, comparing different auto intgrated in dash systems which UConnect was rated in the top tier systems, that Sprint co-developed the system with Chrysler. Thus the relationship. I read it on the internet so it must be true.

The monthly Connect subscription is much too high for what you get. $14.99/mo.
The optional Wifi Hotspot is $35/mo and is only 3g. I can't find any info about how much bandwidth is available. Is it unlimited?

Seemed like I had to keep focused on steering more than I was used to. Maybe because just a different feel for me. (Note: I tried two vehicles and they both felt the same). Could this become more of a problem if towing in high winds? Im towing a 25FB with tongue weight, hitch and all, right at 1000 lbs (That drastically cuts into the payload of my current 1/2 ton). Any advice would be greatly appreciated as Im almost ready to make a commitment on this truck.

On WOODALLS, see contributor "lb516" many posts and threads in re this truck in the Tow Vehicle sub forum.

Dodge steering is quicker than the others, I noticed this after buying mine, after a few miles you get used to it, I sure like my 6.7....
