Towing capacity is only part of the specs you should worry about, the more important one is cargo capacity. I am guessing the Raptor is too anemic in terms of cargo capacity. By the time you hang the tongue weight of a larger Airstream on it, you may barely have enough capacity left for the driver. I had an Ecoboost 4x4 that would pull like crazy with a big towing capacity but had the problem I am describing here. The manufacturers love to blow their horn about towing capacity and are very, very quiet about actual cargo capacities. They love to talk about "payload capacity" in their brochures but you have to dig deep to get them to address address actual cargo capacity one can expect.

As one poster here asked already, what does the yellow sticker on the door say?

Forest roads, sand washes, and desert lake beds, but jeep trails. I should of bought a Class A and a Jeep.

But that's ok. Man can day dream.

I understand about wanting to pull a Jeep out of your back pocket anytime you wish. Get that feeling quite a bit. I think if I had the money for a class A I would also have the money to ship a Jeep anywhere needed and keep my Airstream!

Now you got me day dreaming.

I don't think little would be the proper word I would use.

Not from the sticker but here is the towing/payload info for the super crew cab.

Weight Information

Curb Weight 6,113 lbs
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating 7,450 lbs
Max Payload 1,337 lbs

Max.Towing Capacity 8,000 lbs
GCWR 14,700 lbs

With the WD hitch hooked up the truck and trailer sit level. There is no front end light feeling and everything feels solid turning corners and going up and down through the mountains here on the eastern side of the country. I have the towing package and we are below all weight limits when we are loaded. However, it is my opinion that any AS larger than this one would be pushing the limits for safety.
