Hi, to give you a better idea of what I bought, It is an XLT super crew cab, 5 1/2' bed. [145" WB] With eight options.

(1.) Equipment group 302A / Cloth Bucket seats.

(2.) 3.5 L Ecoboost V-6 Engine.

(3.) LT275/65R18 OWL ALL-TERRAIN.

(4.) 3.73 Electronic Lock RR Axle.

(5.) Off Road package / skid plates.

(6.) HID Headlamps.

(7.) Max Trailer Tow Package.

(8.) Tailgate step.

A few options, I could have done without, but I'm glad that I have them. Only one item that I wanted didn't come with this truck, but we can fix that. I wanted the spray on bed liner.

For what its worth, I installed a bakflip F1 on my 2012 F150 145" wheelbase. Recently we took a 3000 mile trip out west and encountered several thunderstorms. Everything stayed completely dry and it only weighs 60 lbs. Its light weight is why I made the choice.

Me to, put the back flip cover on, love it. Honda 3000is fits under it and bone dry.

Was your F150 on the lot or did you order it with those specs? It didn't come in silver

Look into the Bedrug. My Tundra came with the plastic liner and I put a Bedrug just for the bed and it is great to be able to crawl into the bed without hurting my knees. I got the tailgate Bedrug too. They clean up well if you spill something on it.

Congrats! Just curious, what payload do u have on your truck?

Hi, I'll look into the back flip cover. My plan is to partially uncover the bed so I can run my generator while driving. On hot days, I want to run my air conditioner so I don't have another 103 degree trailer when we hit our next stop.

Hi, I wanted most of what I got; I wanted items numbers 1. 2. 3. 4. and 7. but I was happy to have the others too. This was a dealer purchase from a Ford dealer in Reno, Nevada. No trade, so my truck was trailered to Salem, Oregon and got there with 36 miles on it. My wife and I decided that we wanted Blue Jeans first and Ingot Silver second. But for the seemingly rare combination that I wanted, they found a Oxford White one. [same color as my Lincoln] Wife's car is white too. So you can see why we tried to get the Blue or Silver.

Hi, This gets a bit tricky for some people and I educated my sales person on this topic. The Ford book and on line build your own truck, for my combination, came out to 1,900 lbs. But certain options add some weight and are therefore subtracted from the 1,900 lb starting point. The "Off Road Package" adds steel skid plates and the "LT" tires probably weigh more than the standard "P" rated tires, so my payload was reduced by 155 lbs. [1745 lbs]

For what it's worth, before getting my F150 SuperCrew, Echoboost, Platinum, short bed, I had 2 friends with the same size F150; one had solid one piece cover that lifted from rear with hydraulic arm; other had electric roll up cover. I did not like the hassle of either cover plus costs were higher. I elected to get the 3 piece tri-fold cover, which has served me well. It is secure when tail gate is locked, you can fold open to allow larger items very quickly, and it is light weight to remove if needed~1 person can handle. I use a "spider" stretch netting latched to tied downs, to hold down items when I have full load sticking above bed rails, but also will cover items under netting with plastic tarp to avoid rain. We also typically have our Kayaks with us so I use Thule rack in bed and one on cab; this works nice behind the cover when folded open. Thought about a nice fiberglass camper type cover matching paint but would need to get one that could carry the weight of the Kayaks, more cost.....right now, my set up works, and I can get loaded fairly quickly with the cover folded back, another advantage of tri-fold covers. Pulled back/forth from TX and CA to MT several times...happy hunting.

When you go across the scales, heavier tires will show up as more weight for the truck. More weight on the truck reduces the payload available to not exceed the truck's GVW rating.

I'm looking at a standard cab, 4x4, F150 with the 3.7 liter ecoboost. I want to be able to pull a 30 foot Classic. My biggest concern is the short (126 inch) wheel base. Should I reconsider?

IIRC, the Ecoboost engine is a 3.5L, and the 3.7L engine is a normally aspirated V6 (non-Ecoboost, or non-turbocharged). Either way, unless you get the max tow option, which I do not believe is available without the supercrew, don't think that's enough truck for a 30' Classic.

Try the 2015 build and price. It's more ala carte than prior builds. Max tow is just a separate option.

Google f150 2015 build. I don't think Ford is building any more 2014's. For those it's down to what's on the lot.

Next up for 2016 is a 10 speed transmission. Rumor is it will be an early in the year model. Both Dodge and Chevy have 8 speeds so Ford needs to do something.

I have a 2013 F150 with information screen that stays when the trailer is hooked up "CONNECTED". I have towed my 2008 International about 15000 miles with this truck with zero problems.

Recently the truck has started to alternate between "saying" CONNECTED and then DISCONNECTED.

Interestingly even when the truck "says" that the trailer is DISCONNECTED the trailers lights and brakes continue to function.

I have cleaned the connector and checked for and open ground. A dealer has tried to correct the problem also, with no success.

I have the truck to the Ford dealer and after some checking of the truck's computer and connector they believe the truck is not the problem.

My next step is to connect up to another F150 to try to determine if the problem is with the truck or the trailer. Then I will hook up my truck to another Airstream. The point being to determine which is causing the problem.

Wondering if there is anyone with a similar problem?
