You can always have the skip plates removed and gain back some payload but is it worth it for 150lbs.

The 2014 Max Tow I've been looking at is still on the lot. I wonder if they will discount more once the 2015s start rolling in to the dealers in a couple of months but its already discounted almost $10k.

I wish Ford would post the 2015 charts to compare. Wondering how much I'll have to pay for a few hundred pounds worth of payload vs a close out 2014.

Hi Kelvin:
My guess is the discount will only get deeper as the 2015's get closer.
I'm not sure what the discounts are like in the USA, but here in Canada you can get 10,000 off list all day long. With the new model years arriving my guess is 13 - 14,000 would be what I would be pushing for. Just let the dealer know your interested and 14,000 off list might make you move...lol
Cheers
Doug

Kelvin[/QUOTEThat is a very good question! It would be (really) interesting to know what one actually gets for the extra $$ the 2015 will cost. As the discounts on the 15's will be very lite till the demand drops

Went to Ford and found these 2015 payload specs

2015 Ford F-150 | View Payload Specifications | Ford.com

Looks like for a 3.5L EB Supercrew with a 6 1/2' bed is 2010 lbs and with a 5 1/2' bed 2020lbs. This is without HD Payload. An XLT shouldn't reduce the payload much.
So a 2014 now on the lot is 1765lbs vs 2010lbs, only 245lbs better than the 2014. Is it worth waiting for a 2015 that may be several thousand dollars more just for 245lbs of payload? Still a 2015 would have about 500lbs more payload than my Tundra and the 2014 300lbs more.

The main reason to switch is for 4x4. My Tundra is only 2x2.

Boy Kelvin if these numbers are correct, I would be chasing the 2014 hard. Here in Canada they are discounting the 2015's about 4,000 compared to about 12,000 on the 2014's. So if the unit prices did not go up (and I'm sure they did) one is looking at about 8,000 more $$ for the 2015 and that number might very well be closer to 10,000 by the time you consider the increase in 2015 pricing. So is your 245 lbs actually worth 10,000? I don't think so - not at least in my mind!

Please note this is coming from a guy who decided a month ago to buy a 2014 with HD towing pack etc, just because I could not see the benefits to the 2015 compare to the extra $$

Cheers
Doug

Does yours have the Hd Payload Pkg or just the Max Tow? What does you yellow load sticker show or don't they do that in Canada?

We're you able to get more than $10k off msrp?

Thanks for sharing.

I guess the Lariat package take 200lbs off the payload compared to the XLT I looked at with the 7700 GVWR package and same wheel base.

Hi, that label is the only thing that I can trust. If you can figure it out, the books can get you close.

It will be very interesting to see the label on the door to determine the added payload etc...
