Ford F-150 Tow Mirror

We have factory tow mirrors on our 2012 that manually extend. We bumped the driver's side and the power operator will not fully adjust out. The mirror is not broken. Should this go back to the dealer for repairs?

With your fingertips place them on the mirror closest to the truck door glass an push until you here a few audible clicks. Now try the electric control.

Hmmm... I tried with it adjusted as far out as it would go, and as far in, heard the clicks, but still will not adjust to where I can see the AS.

You might try for advice on F150 forums. I've received very good information on F150forums.com.

If you do end up taking it to the dealer be careful how much they are going to charge. You can purchase new for about $160.

I replaced the stock mirrors on my 2012 with OEM tow mirrors purchased through Tasca ford (www.tascaparts.com). The driver's side mirror was $154 + shipping. Replacement was straight forward. I have pictures of the process if interested...

If the power mirror is working the only thing I can think of is the mirror housing got pushed backward (they are manually folding mirrors) put your hands on the outside of the mirror housing and push towards the front of the truck until it clicks in place.

Good Morning Moflash Well you were exactly right. We have never folded.our mirrors because they are so stiff I was afraid I would break something. Thought maybe there was a trick. After pushing it back in place last night everything is fine. Thanks for your help and sorry to be such an idiot!

No problem,I laugh at myself all the time for over complicating things.
