I'm surprised they sell the amount of gas trucks that they do beings they have a 60k powertrain warranty verses GM and Dodge having 100k warranty's.

It's because Ford doesn't need to have a 100k warranty to sell a vehicle.

And then there's those that don't want to meet themselves around every corner. In other words, just because little Johnny has one, doesn't mean I must have one.

Besides, I wanted the truck with the best Diesel engine made.

I wholeheartedly agree, Jim. It would have to be better than Dancing with the Stars or American Idol.

Oh well, this one will get closed pretty soon. Seems like anyone that doesn't like or want a Ford F-150 wants to put their 2 cents into this thread. Start your own Dodge or Chevy post.

Hi, yes many do say that; But they also say that the best Diesel engine is put into the worst truck too.

Hybrid

Cummins in a Ford with an Allison transmission, that would sell.

You've heard the joke too? "The best thing about a Dodge truck is the Cummins engine, and the worst thing about the Cummins engine is the Dodge truck."

Having had both GM and Dodge trucks thru the years, I can honestly say I've not actually had troubles with either one. That's not to say either one is perfect, because they are not, and there's things I would change about every one I've had.

However, I've test driven several Ford trucks, 150 and 250, and my bad back absolutely will not tolerate the seats in a Ford. They are probably good trucks otherwise, but can't take the seat.

There again, you can't satisfy everyone because I would just put the Cummins in the GM. That would be perfect for me.

Nope, a Ford diesel, the 6.7, with a Torqueshift tranny (proven to be better than an Allison) will sell, and beats all comers hands down. My how this thread has deteriorated from an F-150 post. A lot of anger out there.

Wow, I post about a 2013 EcoBoost Crew Cab and 2011 Super Duty and because I like a Ram 2500 more I'm not allowed to post in this thread and express an opinion based on actual ownership?

I buy the best vehicles for myself not because of the brand loyalty but research, reviews and ownership.

Sorry if I didn't go Ford on this choice, but more sorry for even debating such a goof-ball "biased" topic..

Hi, John; You are not allowed to post on this thread because you only had your F-150 for four days. Just kidding. We love your honesty, so keep posting.

Please show us a copy of that "proven to be better than an Allison".

Nice features, just like the Alison has nice features, but in no way does it support or substantiate your claim, "proven to be better than an Allison".

Looks to me like Ford's attempt to catch up with the Allison.
