Welcome to the group paiceman. You will get a lot of input tow vehicles but at the end of the day, it is your (and your wife's) opinion that pulls the trigger. I think I would get the trailer that I want and pull it with what you have. But I am a 1/2 ton man and do not like the ride of the 3/4 at all.
Ford says you can pull with your EB. If you are not happy with the way it pulls, you can trade it in.
Regards,
Joe

Any suggestions.
On other RV forums folks are successfully towing conventional box type trailers weighing in at the 11,000lbs with the F150 EB.

When you take into consideration the aerodynamic Airstream (20% wind resistance improvement) that makes a big difference. Factor this in and the weight of the 30' can be relativly less (if you want to think of it in those terms).

Paiceman,
I have supercab ecoboost with 8 foot box and max tow.
Pull a 94 31 foot Airstream. It weighs about 8300lb with water etc on board.
I went down to Pittsburgh area this spring towing it. Got about 12.8 MPG and towed in drive not tow haul and it ran at about 1700rpm in sixth gear at 60 mph. This is my normal highway speed for fuel economy and to not overspeed my Goodyear marathons.
On the bigger hills it would downshift into fifth. These are both overdrive gears.
I have no problems and no hesitation to tow this load.
Hope this helps.
Al

To avoid some of the winter in Wyoming, this past March I bought an F-150 w/Ecoboost and put 1K miles on it before I started towing a 2011 20' Flying Cloud. Traveling south through Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and back to Wyoming, I put 6,256.9 miles on the truck and averaged 13.56 MPG. That average MPG does include some, but not much, non-towing mileage. I think the Ecoboost is a great engine.

Remember what Steven Wright says: "I want to live forever. So far, so good."

Well, I decided to give a boost to the economy and just purchased a Ecoboost Lariat with the max tow package and I love it. Some dealers want to clear inventory for 2012 and I feel like I got good deal on something I'll drive/tow with for awhile. Took the extended warranty since it is a turbo and brand new engine.

Still gotta break it in and get it set up before I tow. As Scheck said, it will be nice to bring along all the extra toys, comforts and bikes without going through a balancing act. Plus, like Lucy, the DW can now bring home bigger rocks and more jam.

I know a lot of people like the ford EcoBoost, but it's a relatively new vehicle and new vehicles aren't road tested by thousands of owners and there are likely to more problems until the shakedown year or two is over.

He's a retired lawyer with interesting automotive history.

I have an F150, and truth be told I was distinctly inclined towards Ford trucks when I was searching, and I'd still be cautious about buying the 1st year of the EcoBoost. I was looking for a used truck, so EcoBoost wasn't really on my radar this time around, but waiting out the first year of a big development in automotive technology is generally the prudent choice. If it's a successful development, they'll still be selling it next year. If it's a failure, someone else deals with the fallout.

I've noticed a lot of folks keep repeating that the EcoBoost is a "new" and untested engine. That's not entirely true. The same 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine used in the truck has been used in the Ford Taurus SHO, Ford Flex and a few Lincolns for several years.

Same goes for the "new" 5.0 liter V8. The 5.0 has been tested in the Mustang GT before getting dropped in the truck.

Thank you, as noted, I alreay have the Eco - Platnum edition. Got it at a steal, cheaper than a Lariot, so I am keeping it. As to the trailer, not sure yet. But the comments here help at least to the point that I am not throwing out the 30'.
