The funny part is that the 5.0 V-8 Ford engine gets almost as good mileage and better torque with no issues at all. Reminds me of my V-10 which has been flawless in 123,xxx miles and is still the king of engines in Class C motor homes due to it's reliability and power.

The Coyote is by all reports a good engine, but it doesn't have better torque than the Ecoboost, not peak torque nor torque curve.

Yup I heard it from the next door neighbour who's a big wig at Ford. Ecoboost loses power upon acceleration. To which I said "Found On Road Dying???"

Took about a minute to clear and I could slowly accelerate to highway speed.

The second time the CEL came on - hopefully that will provide some level of proof to the dealer. I'll give them a call tomorrow and set up an appointment.

Sigh - I've been enjoying this truck...

I have been hearing the turbos more of late. I'm not sure if this is related. When letting up on the accelerator, I hear what I assume is pressure being released. I don't recall hearing this when the truck was newer.
that is almost exactly what happened to me except the light came on the first/only time. i haven't noticed my turbos being loud but they do seem louder on some trucks than others.

I know someone who just bought a new 2013 F150 Supercrew King Ranch with the 5.0 V8. He was advised by the salesmen at 2 dealerships NOT to purchase the EcoBoost because they had seen some unhappy customers come back.

I did have a number of bottles of beer in the Airstream 'fridge which required harder acceleration...so yes, alcohol related.

The truck goes in for service tomorrow. I'll report back the findings.

Had my 2013 EcoBoost in for a check engine light last week and they performed the same update. Further troubleshooting indicated a failed boost sensor. Don't know whether to read much into the fact that the part was on backorder, but haven't had any hiccup in acceleration since the part was replaced.

Keeping my fingers crossed as I just took delivery of my EchoBoost last week. No problems yet but my towing is still a few days off. Very impressed with the truck so far.

While shopping for our TV we went back and forth between the Tundra and the F150. After reading this thread I am glad we made the decision we did....
