now for the forbidden political message...

while it may be true that companies employ bean counters...
it is simplistic to think that they are always used to calculate 'worse case' scenarios...

sometimes they just count beans...

i'm not sure any cover up happened in this issue, this time.

being a libertarian, i don't want the government to protect me from corporate american...

with fewer government agencies and oversite,
the free market will and can protect me....
and much quicker too.

i'd rather have underwriters laboratories...(UL) approve and test safety issues that the gov safety administration...
i'd rather have the good housekeeping seal of approval than uncle sams...

i'd rather have martha stewart testing my water than martha washington...

i'd rather have private watch-dog agencies/companies....
watchin' my dogs,
than a bunch of elected dogs...

and so on.

cheers

Hi, 2air. I was doing good until you mentioned Martha Stewart and water; I don't like either, [Martha and drinking water] but that's a long unrelated story.
How about this message from Ford and Only in California; Seems that the new Ford Fusion [I can't spell tonight] PATS system gets interferrence from shopping cart security systems in the parking lots of the famous $.99 and $1.00 stores.

hi grey and welcome to the forums

my understanding is the psds are not part of the recall.

to date the 05s have had a tranny recode or 2 and the coolant chamber relabled...
not much else...
apparently the clamps and screws holding the turbo tubing are frequently replaced for leaks...
mine were even without any leaks...

this site is a good one for info on the psd and keeps a current list of tsb, issues and so on...

http://www.intellidog.com/dieselmann/home.html

often info is here before the recalls are issued. just don't go batty reading all the issues. they are millions of these things on the road so lots of issues come up.

cheers

Hello, Grey, and welcome to the forum.

Go to the Ford.com website and look for recall info. You can put your VIN in there and a list of recalls (if any) will pop up for you. It's not a bad idea to go ahead and check with you dealer also, just to be sure.

Jim

Is the switch mounted on the master cylinder itself ? I see what looks like a pressure switch on the MC with 2 wires coming out of it.

Chris, that's what mine looks like. It's on the top of the MC, right in the front.

Fyi

I just got back from having my recall work done. Easy in, easy out. 45 mins tops.

On a side note I drooled over the 07 F 250's while I was waiting. I found one I liked for 39 k, 11 k more than mine when it was new. I think I'll wait for a decent used one in a year or so.

NEWS FLASH
5 vehciles lost to fire in Huber Hieghts,Ohio(Dayton) Parking Lot.
This massive fire with the lost of 5 vehciles was caused by a 2000 F250 Ford that was on the recall list and not repaired.
I got my recall letter 2 yrs ago from FMCo. If I know about it so does every affected Ford owner and Dealer in the US . THese pple are just sittin on thier hands.
Unplug those Ford cruise controls (plug is on the mastercylinder) till U find out if your vehcile is affected.
Luck to All
Roger
