Ford active motion seats

The 2017 Super Duty Ford crew cabs in the Platinum and King Ranch trim have "active motion" seats. It's seat and back massage with Shiatsu type kneading massage in the seat and back. If there is anyone with this option, I would like to here your thoughts and experiences. We get some pretty stiff and painful leg and thigh muscles on the long drives.

Maybe you should stop every two hours and walk around

Sounds like something expensive to fix when it breaks and it will.

Personally I would arrange a time with a dealer to try one out on the lot before you buy. These options often come as part of an upgrade package and it is there whether you use it or not if you end up with a car with that package upgrade. I have not had an in-seat massager but I can bet my wife would jump at having it on a TV. I can say heated seats are fabulous and now they have heated mirrors and steering wheels on some models. The few times I've been in a car or at a location with a massaging seat they seem mechanical and artificial to me and I leave them turned off. But it comes down to personal preference for sure ...

We have it on our truck and love it. Just did a 3700 mile trip in 10 days and they were used a lot.

We have made two circle tours of the USA in our 2014 Platinum F150 pulling our 27' FC. This truck is amazing from the 3.5 Ecoboost, transmission braking, and the seats. Not only have we appreciated the massage feature during long days of driving, but the heating & cooling features of the seats as well. Because of my concern over the complexities of its many systems I purchased the extended warranty, at a discount, for the first time.

We have them on our 2016 Ford Explorer Limited and they are great. We used them on a 5000 plus trip this fall pulling our 22' sport. Matched with heated or cooled seats makes for a great combination. Highly recommended!

Creature comfort!

I had a 2015 F-150 KR with all the accessories except a buttler. (I say "had" this pick-up as my bride annexed it and I get to pay for it).

The seat system is fantastic. Heat. Cold and massage. If you can take that package, do it. It us all part of the Informat system.

For those that see it as something to break, well moving parts do that.

Just like the crank on the front of a Model T.
Starters replaced them. How many of use want to go back to that method of starting an engine.

Happy New Year -Ya'll.

I have them on my 2017 F-350 Super Duty Platinum and it's a very cool feature. Used it on a recent 4K mile trip and it was helpful to turn it on when I was getting restless in the seat.

This sounds like a good upgrade. Yes, it is something added to the long list of equipment that will eventually break but I wouldn't be without my AC, heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, etc..........

Thanks for the replies. As I said, I don't want a crew cab so I'm trying to find a way to special order the option on a Super cab Lariat. We do stop and walk a bit but the relief is only good for about an hour. I have also looked for a 12v kneading massager but can only find ones that have the kneading for the back. I'm thinking about buying and turning it upside down.

Try a Purple Seat Cushion. The big one. (Old name was Wondergel). Cuts vibration. Pretty well never breaks down. I have one in constant use the past four years (almost 300k miles).

And sit as upright as possible. As close as possible (never have to "reach" for top of wheel).

Seat cushion bottom should have no pressure under thighs at forward edge.

Plan stops a day in advance every 100-miles or less.

And drink more water.
