A month ago we got our 2017 F-250 Diesel with Crew Cab and the 6' 9" bed. I was also concerned about the length going from and F-150 with the 5' bed.
Initially I was intimidated however after one month I have gotten accustomed to the new vehicle and am whipping around with it just like the F-150 and don't even think about it anymore. It does take a little extra time to get it parked in tight places but that is the exception rather than the rule.
I needed the extra room and payload and of course I gotten tired of the tail waging the dog after three years.
Absolutely no regrets.

Does it not come with two cargo bed choices like the F-150 does??
I chose the shorter bed, so the truck would fit in my garage.

For us, it was deciding if we wanted a crew cab with a short bed, or an extended cab with the long bed. Total length was not much different. We like to carry a lot of toys, etc., so we opted for the long bed. We carry kayaks on top of the cap and keep our bikes inside, along with plastic tubs holding all the extras. With what we haul while pulling a 30' AS, we just couldn't go for a half-ton truck. It's not easy to handle in a crowded parking lot, but we manage.

The F-250 advantages far out weight any parking lot issues. I look for parking spots that are easy to enter and exit example near a driveway or street. The backup camera is great for parking. I find backing into a parking spot easier than backing out.

We have a 2016 F-250 Super Duty diesel, towing a 30' Classic as well.. You'll obviously notice the extra length, but it's not really ungainly. Generally, you won't be able to park in a straight-in single parking space because the turning radius is too wide, but you can accomplish the feat by turning into the space as sharply as possible, then backing up and using the steering wheel to realign between the lines. Usually, however, I park by backing in. There's a good reason why forklifts steer with the rear wheels.

It'd be fairly simple to go to your Ford dealer for a test ride, and ask them if you can try parking the vehicle of your choice in their lot.

The proof is in the pudding......or in the trying.

Enjoy. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Houston

It'll work for you. I can put mine into any standard parking slot with a little care. I even fold the mirrors in to make it easy for others to walk between mine and theirs.

We have the 2017 Superduty crew cab , 160 in wheelbase pulling a Classic. The 2017 short bed is 6' 9" and it's definitely long but not too big. Like a previous post when in a parking lot I park further out. The turn radius including the trailer is also manageable although planning before entering a parking lot is wise.

I also second a prior post that the bigger truck is better for hauling a classic which is heavy

Thank you all for your responses. Super helpful. One thing I'll have to check out is how well it fits into our outside parking spot at our condo. Maybe I can get a dealer to give me one for an hour or two. Thanks for the suggestions!!!

Just bought 2016 f250 supercab 6.7L powerstroke
Facts 1/2 " longer than the f150
same width as the f 150
F250 sits 1 " lower than the f150 making it easier for my 5'1" wife to get into.
Supercab fits in my garage_ crew cab would not fit
Picked up my "17" AS international Sig 30" in california last week , drove it through a snow storm and all I can say is "WOW WHAT A TRUCK !!!" 2500 mi, no sway with a weight distributrion hitch, no sway bars, just the sway control built into the truck. 10 inches snow 60mph crosswinds, solid as a rock. Didn't move once. NOT ONCE !
Semis were parked on I40 unable to mkle it up a grade at flagstaff. I went around them got stuck 1/3 the way up in 2WD. Shifted into 4wd high and away we went with NO HESITATION !! All I can say is "WOW WHAT A TRUCK" Absolutely fantastic, wouldnt settle for anything less. LOTS AND LOTs of payload too.
BUY IT and NEVER LOOK BACK

But, the f250 SC fits in my garage. I also find the turning radius quite good and much easier to dive than the ram 2500. Also a signficant bump up in power.

Also, the F-250 was too high for the garage.
In my present garage, I have 3/4" clearance to the garage door, when my front bumper is touching the forward wall pad. Crew cab, short box.

Other than that I love the truck and would buy it again. It was a replacement for a '94 Toyota Tacoma so there was a considerable size adjustment but I would do it all over again.

I have about 1" to the bottom of the door. That's all you need!

The 2016 F250 is different than the 2017. The 2017 uses the same aluminum body as the F150 with different grill fenders and hood however it sits much higher than the 16 250. The 17 is night and day better in ride and handling. Size wise the 150 and 250 are the same width and length, (only the height is different) when comparing similar configurations. The 250 only comes with the 6.7' box where as the 150 has a 5.5' or a 6.7' box. If you compare a 150 with the short box and the 250 with the 6.7 box the 250 is a foot longer. The extra 12" doesnt sound like much but it is when you have to maneuver in a tight area and is very noticeable with a 30' AirStream. For me the Supercab is the way to go. The only advantage to a SuperCrew is back seat passengers, and for me its not an issue. The whole argument about the back doors on the SuperCab is nonsense.

This boils down to personal preference and compromise.

We bought our first SuperCrew in 04 and would not consider any cab configuration less than 4 doors. There's a trade off for cabin space over tight space maneuverability, and we prefer the cabin space. Like a previous poster mentioned we tend to park away from the hub bub at most shopping or dining locations and walk a bit. Just my 2˘.

Nonsense?
Such enlightened thinking!
I know that for our use a Super Crew is mandatory of course your use may be different thus your attitude.
Enjoy your supercab.

A lot has been said however the one thing I would definitely recommend is the 8 foot bed. You will be glad you have it. I am very glad I got it. It has become an unexpected work horse hauling things back and forth to the dump, along with 8 foot sheets of plywood etc.

Plywood fits just fine in the 6.5' bed too

Just put the tailgate down

I would opt for the longest truck you can fit in your garage, if that's where you will park it. I am a fan of the 8' bed, also.

Get what you like the best, learn it's advantages and limitations, then go out and enjoy it.
