F250 PSD tire replacements

Well, I have 47000 miles on my BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires and the tread is down to 5-6. I'm about to take a 5,000 mile trip to Grand Canyo and Monterey and Yosemite. So I went to a tire store near me and the guy persuades me to buy Goodyears new Silent Traction LT265/75R16. They are HORRIBLE! I was swerving and mushrooming all over the road. The Goodyear man said drive 'em 5000 miles and the Kevlar breaks in. I said take 'em off and put the BF Goodrich rugger trails back on. Beware, the Silent traction are loosey IMHO.
