F150 Platinum towing a 2017 FC27FB
I apologize as I know this topic has been talked about a good bit.
I currently own a 2016 F150 Platinum supercrew with 3.5 eccoboost - the 3.55 locking rear axel - towing package with brake controller
I am looking and getting very close to buying a 2107 AS Flying cloud 27FB...
Of course I will get a weight distribution hitch
I wanted to know if anybody was towing with this type set up. Since the truck is basically new I am not going to change vehicles at this time -- I would however like to hear from your experiences
Thank you for your patience -- this forum is great
Mike

I have the same truck pulling a similar weight SOB. Have not had a problem pulling it around Michigan. I'd think you will be fine, depending on how much stuff you are loading into the truck - payload. I have made sure that I'm running at about 10% tongue weight. PP hitch has been fabulous, been passed by every kind of semi, made semi-emergency lane changes when a chuckle head in a semi came running up an on ramp, and run in 35+ mph crosswinds - no issues. Crosswind effect was similar to what I get without the trailer. My X-way speed is generally about 65.

towing a 27FB
I'm towing a 27FB International with a 2014 Ram 1500 4x4 with an eight speed transmission and a V6. The numbers on your F-150 are more robust than mine, I think you should be fine. I've got approximately 3000 miles with this combination over multiple Colorado, Utah and California Mountain passes. I've been able to go the speed limit up any pass. The issue for me is tongue weight. I had my trailer on the scale when it is loaded and found my tongue wait to be just over 900 pounds. I keep everything I can underneath the back table. I also try to keep as little weight as possible in the truck itself. The only thing in the truck bed is folding chairs, generator and gas can.
I'm using a Curtis weight distribution hitch and I'm very satisfied. I went ahead and installed a Air lift load levelers but recently I forgot to air them up and really felt no difference.

I have a 2015 F150 SuperCrew Lariat with the 3.5L EcoBoost and tow a 2008 27FB. Mine came with a Reese WD hitch and I've been towing it for just over a year. Previously had a 19' Bambi and in the transition only noticed slightly less power but nothing that bothered me. Perfectly stable on the road at highway speeds and have been up to local mountains (5,000+ ft elevation) a few times with no problems.

I just bought a 2017 F-150 and tow a 27FB. Have only towed it about 20 miles and from my home/storage for maintenance. It towed just fine. Last time I weighed the tongue it came in at 950 lbs. I set up the weight distribution hitch such that the front wheel wells height stays constant when loaded and unloaded. I do plan to take it to a CAT scale for a axle weight ratings check. I have a Lariat with 1,660 lbs of payload. However I've since installed a Bakflip tonneau cover that subtracts about 45 lbs.
The Platinum is an upgrade from a Lariat. It has the sunroof, power running boards etc. Check your payload stick on the door jam. You probably have between 1,400 and 1,500 lbs. This is manageable with a 27FB with strong weight distribution and by not expecting to put a lot of stuff in the truck bed.

Towing a 2017 FC FB with a 2016 F150 XLT FX4 package with same Ecoboost and tow/haul package. So far we are coming upon 9000 miles and are sitting this morning inSW Arizona. No issues period. Averaging 12.5 mpg at 63-65 mph. It pulls great and most important it stops just as well. Regards

Update by OP~~~~ 3 trips in so far 1400 miles - one to north Georgia.
So far the 3.5 eco boost has been flawless. 12.8 mpg at 63 mph most of the time.
The truck has plenty of power and the combo of truck & trailer brakes along with the transmission make stopping a breeze.
No sway- with the equal-I-zer hitch set up.
My payload is 1525#'s optioned like mine is. Have not weighed it yet but we travel with just 2 of us and no generator- some wood 2 chairs and 2 light folding bikes.
So far all is well - 2 bigger mountain trips planned this summer.

My TV is a 2015 Ford F-150 Platinum with the 3.5 Ecoboost. My AS is a small 20' Flying Cloud 2015. I wanted something that was comfortable and that we could see the sides of the AS. Great gas mileage and plenty of power. I was towing it with a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee which had plenty of power, but I could not see around the AS. So that is why the Ford F-150. Great truck! If I move up to a larger AS Flying Cloud 25, I will be in the zone.
