I believe that some of the shuddering was on the longer wheel base models. Mine is a 145" model with a single drive shaft and the 157" wheel base models have a two piece drive shaft. To date, I haven't tried Premium fuel yet. Supposed to add 20 horse power and 10 lbs torque.

This may be true, however my 2011 with 145" wheelbase and 60000 miles, half while towing, has had the shudder several times. As noted in my previous post, Ford installed the shielding fix, and then 2 coils and spark plugs. Altogether it has happened 4 different times. No problems when burning premium on my last 5000 mile tow in wet and humid conditions.
I hope on the 2016 that I'm picking up tomorrow that Ford has fixed the problem.

Hi, I should have mentioned that the shuddering from vehicles that have two piece drive shafts, Is at take off or slow speeds. It is stated to be worse when towing. This is completely different than engine shuttering.

Having just ordered a '16 F150 XLT to tow my 25' AS, I very much appreciate this thread and will stay tuned. I am switching from the tried-and-true '97 F250 7.3 Powerstroke. The thing was ultra reliable but just too much of a dinosaur in the age of bells and whistles.....and LOOOOONG! One of the plus points in the 150 is the management of multiple trailers, right down to monitoring the miles on each. I look forward to the pro trailer backup system, but I have trained my wife, so don't know if I will rely on that. The main negative that I have seen so far is downhill on a steep grade, and I think that for those situations, you could just boost the trailer braking. I would appreciate reading owners experience in that category.

We are new 2015 F-150 Lariat owners and look forward to towing our 19' Bambi Int'l but have not hooked up and taken off yet. I am a bit concerned regarding a discussion on the Ford F-150 forum about a lot of folks having problems with their Integrated Brake Controllers over the past couple of years. Has any one else had problems? or have you had none???

I still drive a 2005 Ford Excursion with the 6.0 Powerstroke. When not on the road, it is in a heated garage usually having work done. It has the Delete and was Bulletproofed, along with a series of suspension mods geared for towing. It is getting brake upgrades over the next couple months. Until the Excursion returns, love will keep this one alive.

Hi, a lack of engine braking is there, but everything else is great. I have only once towed my trailer with my 2014 F-150 Ecoboost; It was, cross country, for 3 1/2 months and over 13,000 miles. So I have some experience.
