Experience with Rhino Rack track mounted rack?

We are considering putting a rack on the top of our Jason brand cap on the back of our F150. We would use it for mounting our roof top bike racks we used to use on our old Yukon.

According to the Jason Cap web-site, you can get a Rhino Rack kit that mounts to the top of the cap. When looking online, I have been able to find the same rack at various online stores. It appears to be about $350 plus my time to install. This is the specific one we are considering: Cap/Topper Roof Racks | Rhino-Rack

Does anyone have experience with cap mounted roof racks? If so, what brand and style have you used? Are they durable over the long run?

I would buy the cap with the rack installed vs trying to do it yourself. The price to have the factory mount the rack during construction is probably the same or cheaper. As long as the Rhino Rack has the needed bike mounting accessories or can take your existing racks they are probably as good as the Thule.

I considered a Jason cap but decided to go with an ARE Z Series with the Thule rack with its accessory ecosystem.

Also, get the strip LED lighting inside the cap. I just have the single strip and its more than enough to light up the whole interior.

The truck I have (bought used a year ago) already had the Jason cap. Today I went ahead and called them directly and spoke with one of their specialists. He described how to properly mount the rails as well as why to do it that way. Great customer service, especially considering that they had nothing to gain by helping. I already had the cap and bought the rack on my own.

It is good to have their expertise for added reassurance.
