i've pulled my 25'FC with my 2015 Expedition exclusively in the Montana, Wyoming, Idaho area without any issues. The 3.5 ecoboost V6 has amazing torq and is able to navigate any pass with ease. i've never experienced any weight or overloading issue. My fuel economy is fantastic - 20+ mpg without the trailer and 14mpg with. i just replaced it with the 2018 Expedition but haven't had a chance to pull the trailer yet.

Not sure what your budget is, but a good used Toyota Land Cruiser will last a long time (on my third one and last two are still in the family at and over 300,000 miles with no major repairs. It has 8500lbs tow capacity. Never calculated the payload though.
Oh, and my two English setters play very much into my choice of vehicles.

Well, I pulled the trigger on a used CPO 2018 Armada SL with 10K miles for 39K. They treated me well on my trade, and I got a 7/100 bumper to bumper.
So hopefully I’ll be back in 2025 for my next tow vehicle...

I tow with a Ram 2500, but my daily driver is a Nissan Murano, and I think it's the most comfortable car I've ever driven, which is pretty much a bold statement. My favorite feature is the radar cruise control. Anybody who has experienced this bit of awesomeness will attest to the level of convenience it brings. Nissan actually uses a laser-based system that some say works a bit better than other brands.
Any who, congrats on your new TV!

I have a 2017 Armada Platinum and have been very pleased with it. As an everyday vehicle and an SUV in general it's a phenomenal truck and I would doubt anyone would be displeased with it.
As a tow vehicle for me towing a 25' FB International it is has been completely satisfactory. As with any tow vehicle bigger is always better more power and torque is always better. But in today's world you do have to make trade-offs unless you can afford two separate vehicles one for towing strictly and one for everyday use..
The towing statistics and specifications for the Armada speak for themselves and are true to the numbers. The one thing to consider which for some people is a problem is that on my vehicle the Platinum it does have air leveling suspension. Some people feel that this is a detriment or counterproductive when installing load leveling hitches. But that is another discussion entirely.

Hey, there are a lot of us Airstreamers that base our decisions on what works better for our dog so don’t feel bad. I’d say if your Escalade worked fine for you so will the Armada, but I would expect it to be more reliable. Only negative thing I have heard from someone who owns one is that the gas mileage is miserable, about 13 around town, so towing will be less. I’m sure you are aware of that though.
Good luck, and safe travels.

Congratulations on the new tow vehicle. Any day you can upgrade your rolling stock is a good day.
So what are the specs on the new vehicle?
engine, transmission, gear ratio? - the stuff towing nerds want to know!

It’s got a 5.6L engine putting out 390hp and 394 lb-ft torque, 7 speed transmission, 2.93 gear ratio. I haven’t towed yet but as a daily driver I give to enthusiastic thumbs up. Smooth as silk, very quiet cabin, and a bit thirsty on gas. Getting 16mpg average. It comes prewired for a brake controller.
