Hi Brian, truck looks great!
How do you like that Alli? Isn't that something to tow with?
Just set the T/H and go!

We just got back from 6k mile trip last night...cut the trip short by a day or two due to storm...
We did Dunravin/Long Horn Pass/Trail ridge road...all with no problems...

Duramax/ Alli was flawless...this was our longest trip to date...

When do you get the TC?

Glad to hear you are enjoying the deezul...I was a bit aprehensive when we got out first diesel also...you will love it!

Gotta go tie down the boat...
Bill

We love the new truck. We've got him up to 2000 miles, and about 500 of towing Lucy. The mileage was good towing. It was 14.7 mpg.

We are expecting to pick up the truck camper around the 15th of September. Lucy will be coming with us to get the TC.

I'm planning to do a trip thread when we go to get the truck camper.

Brian

I just got back from a 2500 mile trip to Oregon and back. I averaged 10.5 mpg overall at 70-73 mph. 65 in Oregon of course. With my 08 sequoia 4.10 rear 382 hp 410 torque

I don't use my tow haul button. As it shifts more and keeps the rpm up. And I just don't need it.

If I drop to 60 mph I can get 12.5 mpg. But since I'm not retired, I need to get where I'm going and get back in a certain amount time.

Brian,
GREAT looking truck, I will be interested in hearing about your exp. with the camper once installed.
A note on the tires per your previous question.... we tour the country, last year from Key West to Alaska, this year from Cali to Labrador....trust nothing under an E load rating due to the stress on corning and esp. the extra weight in your bed- A strong contender is Michelin's LTX M/S 2's they are rated for 70k miles, and have held the road like no other.
As far as MPG, we avg from 11.6 to 14.2 as a best. there are a few main factors. Weight, Speed, Grad of the road, quick starts, etc. We are pretty conserative though. However believe our numbers shake out with the "norm" found here on the form. One rational we found in going with the DRW, is the lateral force ( we tow a loaded 34' Limited....not afraid to use it ;-)))
Sounds like you are off to a great adventure, mind your speed/inflation ratings on your AS tires. GoodYear is rated at 55mph, whereas Maxxis is rated at 65. Heat, early wear and blowouts occur....if ignored...but that's another thread for another day....enjoy the road in your new rig, it's a beauty....

In the interest of safety, please excuse the "mis post" of the following information regarding Maxxis Tire Loads:
