Cayenne Turbo

Considering a Cayenne Turbo/Tourege V10 TDI. We have a 2006 25 FB. Anyone have any feedback?

Yes! I've been reading several threads on this. If you go into the tow vehicle thread and do a search for Toureg or Cayenne, you'll see several threads on the topic that are really useful.

DPeakMD tows a '75 23' Safari (much lighter than your new 25'er) with a Cayenne & Hensley. Seems very happy! I haven't heard what they are using for their '78 31' Excella 500.

I probably wouldn't rest until I got an opinion & rig setup recommendations from Andy Thomson at canamrv.com

unless this is some new thing bob, dpeak' was using a 2004 bmw x5...

which has a completely different receiver and rear connection,

this was AFTER thinking about the veedub, see post 34 from ancient daze...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f463...html#post49642

he also switched at some point to a F body 3/4 ton truck as i recall, after using the x5 a few years, per post 6 here...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f463...tml#post516950

i did meet a guy towing a bambi with the cayenne turbo while in jackson center.

he had to UPgrade the trailer to disc brakes after it got sloppy in a panic stop on the interstate east of st louis.

we were both in j/c when they were 'testing' and making the cayenne/swerving trailers video...

many folks have used the T for 25 or smaller here and as cam' suggests LOTS of threads on this...

cheers
2air'

Any of these trailers ought to have disc brakes.

Great Vehicles - if you wish to limit the capabilities of your 25FB Airstream and are willing to invest in a PP or HaHa Hitch then you can tow them with ANY of the vehicles regardless of their engine configuration - do a search and you will have answers to every question that might be in your noodle - and then some...

We're considering a Cayenne S. Looked at a top line Sequoia and, considering the $60K sticker, thought it looked cheap inside. Our current GX470 with 150K has spoiled us.
We don't want a over sized truck for a few pulls a year, but would like a little more power than the GX.
Had not considered a Cayenne. I was one of many who thought Porsche had no bus. making SUV's, felt the previous model was lacking in design and quality interior. But, the '11 has my attention.
Now, we need to see if the dealer will allow a test drive with the AS hooked up!

2Air's correct on our setup. 2004 BMW X5 4.4i with Sport Package. 1975 23' Safari with a Hensley, new axles, 16" wheels and disc brakes.

I did consider the VW V10 T'Reg back in 2004 before deciding on the Bimmer.

We've also got an '00 F350 CC SB 7.3 PSD that we've been using recently due to need to haul more stuff to rallies.

I'd rather pull with the X5, but there's not enough room for everything we need to take plus the dog!
