That looks great very nice job. Why did you change to black and did you happen to find out what epoxy he uses or what kind of plastic the dash is made of

Thanks
John

For the record, I did not go back with the original outside color. I went with a white, I thought it goes better with the dark blue I picked out for the stripe color.

John,

Sorry, he would tell me what he uses for the repair on the dash & plastic covers. I went with black because the dash & door panels where originally black and black matches everything. I have not pick out the materials for the carpet, seats, cushions, etc. so, I did not want a blue dash that may not match the rest of the items.

Next, they painted the center white. We still need to install the mouldings and moulding inserts (black), access doors and all the compartment locks.

A little detail on the outside mirrors. We painted the original mirror arms and purchased two new mirrors that are the same size as the original ones.

Thank you. The brand name on the mirrors is Velvac. I do not know if this brand was original, but they are still available. We ordered them from www.drillspot.com but the mirrors were shipped direct from Grainger. The new Velvac mirrors were a match to the ones that were on it.

About 95% of the trim is back on it, all the mouldings, moulding inserts, new locks, new lights and new lens, door handle, etc. A few problems, the rear clearance lights are blowing fuses, new fog lights are not working, and the batteries are going dead. I'll see if we can wash it tomorrow and post a few more photos. Thursday is goes to the glass shop for new windshields and window channel and seals.

We did some of the screen door repair. The center section that was removed and flatten out & installed a new slide. The screen stills needs to be replaced. Also, installed a new porch light.

It's so beautiful!!! You've done some amazing work.

I really like the shiny new paint job; it will be a while before we can swing that kind of expense. Hope you don't mind if I live vicariously through you for a little bit...

How is the interior coming along?

We were tent campers back in the 70s, and don't remember seeing the Argosys or Airstream motorhomes... I bet yours looks better than they did new.

Items that were on (and still on!) the to-do list this week:

1. Wire the new porch light.
2. Replace both batteries.
3. Repair short in the rear clearance lights & install lights.
4. Check all the gauges on the dash.
5. Replace the speedometer. Found one on ebay-new GM in the box.
6. Install & wire 2 new lights on the step inside the door. The holes are there, but the lights are missing.
7. Install the outside A/C cover.
8 Repair the A/C-heat switch (or cable) on the dash A/C. This turns out to be a corroded heater valve (manual), which may also mean a corroded heater core-which would have been a lot easier to replace when the engine was out.
9. Reinstall the passenger seat.

work is slow, but steady................

Congrads on your great progress. Paint looks awesome!
Would love to see how you address the heater/ac switch issue. Sometime would be great to have a 20footer meet up.
