Brake controller on a F-150 King Ranch

Hello I´m in the process of buying a 2008 F-150 King Ranch 4X4 as a TV for my 1970 23´ Safari. It has towing package factory installed. It has a brake controller built-in or do I need to purchase one?
Thanx

We purchased a f150 Lariate sorry about the spelling errors our truck had a tow package but no brake controller it was optional. Cost about $250.00 from ford made a world of difference and it took ford about an hour to install.

Our 2009 F150 has the max tow package, with the integrated controller as well as the tranny cooler -- it works perfect and haven't had to install anything (plus, since it's integrated, it's smart and doesn't rely on hydraulics and other aftermarket add-ons to determine the amount of force).

There is an as built slip, usually on the flap of the glove compartment that has a code for everything on the truck as if left the factory.

You can search on the web for a list of these codes or go on a Ford truck forum and I am sure someone will give you the codes for the towing packages

Well, it's pretty easy to tell on ours -- for starters there's a brake controller in the dash just to the right side of the steering wheel. Also, if you pop the hood, you'll see that there's 2 auxiliary radiators for the transmission. Also, if you look on the driver's door, you'll see a sticker containing your axle information -- if you look it up the combinations will likely tell you what you have.
