Brake controller connector 06 tundra

Hi. I,m a new airstream owner (06 19 CCD) and have also purchased an 06 Tundra dbl cab for a TV. I'm in the process of getting this combination ready for the spring. Have purchased a Prodigy brake controller with the Toyota specific wire harness. My problem is finding the brake controller connector under the dash. I've tried the owners manual and even went to the dealer and looked at their wiring diagrams but no luck. I've seen several very helpful posts and cannot find them now that I need them. Can anyone help??

Found two things not on this forum. Where is electric brake control harness? - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra Solutions Forum and 06 Tundra Brake controller - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra Solutions Forum. Woops! The last one is you.

It's not behind the kick panel?

You can call Toyota—the number is in the owner's manual. The people who answer the phone can answer simple questions and this may be simple enough for them. You could also call the service dep't at a different Toyota dealer.

Does the '06 have a 4 or 7 (round) pin connecter for the umbilical from the trailer? You'll need a 7 pin. I know the '02 just had the 4 pin (kind of oval) connector.

Smile Finally found it!

Thanks for the information and support. I started out trying to find the controller pigtail myself. NO LUCK. Next tried the local Toyota dealer. They provided wiring diagrams but not much else. Before trying an aftermarket shop, I went to another local Toyota dealer and explained the problem. The service manager call an associate who knew immediately where the connector was "hidden". The associate cut the electrical tape off the main wire harness behind the kick plate area and there it was. If not for the electrical tape, the connector would have been exactly as shown in the owners manual diagram. The tape hid it very, very well. What a difference talking to an expert !!!

I'm now on track to hook-up the Tundra to my 19 CCD.
Happy Days!!

I'm curious where you mounted the brake controller. I didn't want to drill into my dash on my '06 Sequoia so I made an adapter plate that I affixed to the bottom of the ash tray with 3M VHB tape and then mounted the controller to that. From there it was a simple task to route the wiring out of sight over to the kick panel.
