Question best source for Suburban parts

Can anyone give suggestions for the best source for Suburban parts: We need running boards, and need to replacte the interior rear dome light with one with a switch, so child in rear seat can read while driving. Any suggestions? thanks.

You didn't mention the year of your Suburban, but you may find that there were optional switch controlled reading lights available for your Suburban that could be had as a dealer installed option. My '99 K2500 Suburban has twin reading lights for both rear seats as well as the front seats that are individually switch controlled -- I believe that they were part of the LT package.

Running boards are available from multiple sources. I have had two sets -- one on my '99 Suburban and one on my '95 K1500 Z-71 Club-Cab Pickup. I went with the factory optional running boards on the Suburban -- they are just barely adequate. On the '95 Z-71, I had Ziebart/Tidy Car premier running boards that were only modestly more expensive than the GM factory optional running boards, but much more durable and far better looking. Ziebart/Tidy Car, at least in my area, has one of the nicest selections of running boards and mud flaps with reasonably priced installation.

Good luck with your search for accessories!

Kevin

Check with your local auto salvage yard they will have most every thing you need and if not they should have a parts locator on there computer where they can find it at other salvage yards across the country, happy hunting
