Best Replacement Brake Rotor?

My tow vehicle is a 2007 Ford F-150 Lariat and my front rotors are now vibrating at 41,000 miles. So before I sink too much money into the a brake job, I thought I ask here for opinions on brake rotors.

I'm looking at Baer brake rotor & pads and boy are those spendy! I've also come across EBC as well as others.

Does anyone here have a recommendation for brake rotors?

Thanks!

Javier

I don't do Fords

I am a GM man myself. Perhaps you can get something out of my tale:

Many years ago, my wife's Yukon chewed up a rotor after the wear sensor on some aftermarket front disk brake pads I installed fell asleep at the helm. For good measure, I replaced both front rotors with what the local autoparts chain store was selling.

Within 6,000 miles the steering wheel started vibrating during braking.

The rotors were then replaced with [spendy] Wagner, OEM rotors. And Wagner pads. She never had another problem.

As 87MH would say, "Suck it up, spend the bucks, do it right the first time."

Tom!

Thanks so much and I'm with you. Now that I'm out of warranty, I'm the type of guy to upgrade the safety stuff as much as possible.

That's ok... Not everyone can be a Ford Man. =)

Cheers,

Javier

Warped rotors are pretty common on the late model Ford trucks.
Brembos and Wagners seem to be the aftermarket rotors of choice. I went with some generic rotors from NAPA and semi-metalic pads. They're inexpensive and they deliver to the shop. (Discount and, I'm lazy too). 2 years and no problems. The trucks not a daily driver but hasn't developed any hard spots on the rotors from sitting.
FYI if you’re planning on doing the work yourself the rotors are very prone to sticking on the hubs.
If you want your head to spin go over to Ford Truck Enthusiasts. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/916610-warped-rotors.html
Good place to find out about all the quirks of your TV.

Good luck,
Tom
