Best color for Airstream tow vehicle

In reviewing photos of people towing Airstreams, it seems to me that colorless trucks are more preferred by Airstream owners than colorful ones. White, black, gray, silver.

Is it just me?

I'm inclined to prefer "brilliant silver metallic", "Oxford white", and "black" in that order. They also have a "white sand tri-coat metallic" which is the only one that costs extra ($500).

Thoughts? Monochromatic color palette? Or pop of color?

I never thought I would own a silver truck, and though I have to say it was not planned, they do look good together.

Of course if I had a Hot Wheels cool car like Neil, I agree, Red looks great, exp on his car!

My other cars have been Brown, Dark Cherry and Green/Grey. The Dark Cherry car was my tow vehicle for a short period of time if that counts.

Red it is for us too. Black and silver looks good too.

I think for folks who are into the color thing it is important to also work with any color on the Airstream to go well with the TV. We got rid of the Airstream blue trim and swapped it out for a more modern grey and red theme.

So when is this..."old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

We currently use two tow vehicles. Daisy is a silver suburban and Olivia is a red suburban. We think that the red one looks better towing Lucy.

Ours is Silver. That was due to it being the one with the options we wanted at the price we wanted.

Best color for Airstream tow vehicle

My experience was that the only colors available when I ordered my Suburban in 1998 were somber so it was a process of choosing the least objectionable of the somber colors. If they had offered it, I would have had a Suburban painted the color of my New Beetle Convertible pictured below:

My car is the Gecko Green New Beetle Convertible parked next to the white mini-van. I ended up with Emerald Green on my Suburban as it was the only option offered in the green family.

I would have been thrilled if GM had offered either the Cyber Green shown on the New Beetle Sedan below or the Gecko Green Metallic shown on my New Beetle Convertible below:

I'm on my third white pickup, but blue would be my first choice to tow an AS. Matches the blue trim on the trialer without being boring. I'm not afraid of a little color. My wife's New Beetle is snap orange, the brightest orange ever used on the Beetle.

I'm on my 2nd silver truck. Looks great with the trailer and the truck can be really dirty and still look OK.

I've had lots of color vehicles. The ones I hated were white and black. They were difficult to keep clean and you saw the swirl marks with black. I liked when you could order two-tone trucks, but nowadas they all seem to be mono-chromatic.

I call it silver / tan, but it is easy to keep clean, doesn't show the dirt, and I think it looks good with the trailer...

Probably has a lot to do with the fact that the truck makers manuf. more vehicles in the plainer colors. This as many wind up doing work/commercial duty.
